I think my title sums up my thoughts on this latest outing for TG and the gang. Riffing off Ulysses and every other rendition of Homer's Odyssey the writers could think of, TG: Odyssey sees the usually jumbled and non-linear TG take a direct, structured approach for once. At first I worried there might be a loss of energy as a direct result of losing the freeform style of the original strips, and of course this is a graphic novel rather than a collection of serial strips so the energy *has* to b More...

Ya perbably aint gonna believe it when I sez this but I had been wanting to read Tank Girl for almost 15 years. So imagine my geeking-out when I saw this book on my friend's desk.
When I finished I was so disappointed. The droring was good. Jamie Hewlett has a very distinctive style. Them two stars were for Jamie's drorings only.
I don't have a problem in accepting absurd storylines.
Oh they're going to hell. Oh Tank Girls lover was an antromorphic boomer. I'm down with it.

This book was laugh-out-loud, slap-your-knee, kick-your-mama-in-the-gut-she-carried-you-in funny. Milligan re-tells the story of Homer's Odyssey and Joyce's "Ulysses" (which was based on the Odyssey) with the Tank Girl crew standing in for the ancient Greeks. It's page after page of blood, gore, sex, drugs, cannibalism, and kangaroos. And a goth band (the Sirens) gets a beat-down! What more can you ask for?

Always a good read. Albeit Alan Martin not being on board (how tragic), I feel this one outshone some of the over books in sheer Tank Girl awesomeness.
