Unsuspecting Rick Summers had simply gone to the cemetery to visit the graves of his mother and sister, killed in a car accident years earlier. He had the cabbie wait for him. But when he got back into the taxi, he didn’t have the same driver. His new chauffeur was a re-animated corpse. And he was about to take a drive into hell. The doors to hell open in the house of his ...more

What a good read and great book. I truly enjoyed reading this book, it gives a breath of fresh air to the horror genre. Gary, has done an excellent job of telling the story of a centuries old promise of Forever Will You Suffer.

The book starts out with Rich Summers going to the cemetery to visit his mothers and sisters graves. When he returns to the cab that has been waiting for him. He notices an awful smell. The cab starts driving away and there is thump under the car. Rich looks out the back w

Forever Will You Suffer by Gary Frank

This was an excellent read! Frank delves into the mysterious rites of passage into death only death becomes the passage itself for his protagonist Abigail, a witch from times long since past.

Frank definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat awaiting the next transition his main character Rick Summers would undergo as he is transported through the horrors Abigail leaves lying in wait for him - her promise "Forever Will You Suffer" is a promise kept through t

What to say about this particular book... Started off with what I felt was such promise. Set a good tone, drew me in, kept my interest; queue the second half and everything fell apart for me. To be fair, it has been a few years since reading this novel but the one thing that sticks with me more than anything is the disappointment I felt in how the book seems to trail off into absurdity. This isn't a horrible read, and it will likely entertain you throughout (if this is your type of genre), but i ...more

I wasn't sure what to expect with this book but it certainly is a page turner! Mr. Frank does a great job with keeping things moving at a very fast pace leaving you wondering why the characters still even want to live after all they have been put through. I love trying to figure out where the author is going with their book, however, I didn't do very well this time. Gary had me guessing and doing it incorrectly which is a wonderful dilemma for me. I really enjoyed the story and felt for the char ...more

I was intrigued by the premise of this book and for the first three-quarters was fairly entertained, but the ending fell apart and I quickly realized that this story would have been better suited as a novella. I also have a problem with horror writers writing in the first person, because you can immediately assume that the protagonist won't die... he can't, because he's telling the story. This isn't always the case, of course, but horror tales in the third person are usually more suspenseful. Ho ...more

Yes, the narrative wavers between present and past tense. I think it suits the narrator, and I know Mr. Frank well enough to know that it's not mere sloppiness. A decent editor would have repaired it if that were the case anyway. And yes, the story development, in terms of scene change and character introduction, is abrupt and even disjointed; it's a gambit to establish a mood of alienation and instability, and I think it works. I don't claim this is a masterwork, but I think Mr. Frank's novel t ...more

There are few books I dislike as much as this. While the original premise seemed interesting/original the writing itself didn't follow through. There are so very many jeers that could be thrown at a book such as this that the act of jeering itself becomes exasperating. Let me just say. Characters are idiots...Plot line insufficient...Grammatical errors everywhere!

The first truly classified Horror genera book I have ever read! And what a fantastic read I simply couldn't put the book down, the first chapter I felt was a little absurd but then I realized that's just the premise of the book if it weren't for that first chapter I don't believe i would have kept reading.

Great first book. Some parts were a bit slow, others were too chalk full of details that it confused the plot. But still a great read.
