Recommends it for: all young children
This is a very simple story told in rhyme of a full summer day about a family with children and a dog. I read it immediately after I read Flannel Kisses and liked it slightly less than the first one, I think because the illustration were more detailed in the winter themed “Flannel” book, but I still thought this was a special book.

I recommend reading these books together, even though there’s something to be said for reading each book during its own season. I hope that autumn and spring books wi

Early introduction to summertime words. Although the pictures are soft, there may be too much detail/exposure for a little baby.
