Quite an intriguing story which follows the lives of Laurie and Claire from their shared childhood, growing up in a household where both sets of parents have established a music centre, all the way to middle age. There are many twists and turns which I followed avidly and yet somehow I felt it just dwindled off at the end. I loved it as I was reading it but can't quite put into words my ambivalence over it now.

Laurie and Clare grow up almost as brother and sister in the strange atmosphere of a thriving music community. The book follows their lives as they learn about each other and about adult life. Thought-provoking and very enjoyable.
