Matthew Simmons thanks Russell Edson and has studied with Charles D'Ambrosio. Matthew Simmons is a blogger and works at a bookstore. This book is sewn with thread. It is delightful.

This book is lovely. I suggest that anyone who is lucky enough to read Creation Stories to read it twice, just to realize how lucky you really are.

A funny, read-in-one-sitting little book. Kind of like watching Wile E. Coyote chase Samuel Beckett.

I like the idea that a book like this exists almost as much as I like the book itself. I downloaded a pdf version of the book for free, and there's something amazing-seeming about that to me. These are short shorts, lists, prose poems, jokes, whatever you want to call them. Selfishly, it's nice to know that this kind of writing can find its way into the world, even if it means flinging it out there oneself. This book definitely strikes a chord with some of my own literary sensibilities.

My favorites: "The Toast at the Anniversary Party and All I Hadn’t Wanted to Say in It" and "Dear Scope Mouthwash."
