It was sublime, erotic evil. It was the call of his own blood . . .

When Peter Constantine inherited a vast, remote estate, his life began to change. Free at last from money worries, Peter and his wife, Meg, could relax—and Peter could explore his new, mysterious home. From the thick woods, the winding trails, the bizarre, sensual sculpture, came a pulsing, ancient call th

I received this book through NetGalley for a fair and honest review. I commend the author on writing a unique story. Greek mythology and transformations are the themes here and I found that fascinating. Peter and his wife Meg are more like "vanilla" characters but still worthy. An easy read, and while it won't keep you up all night, I found myself oddly intrigued. Good descriptions and imagery.

I'm not very adept at writing reviews, or basing whether I read a book or not on its reviews; I read for fun and if a book entertains and keeps me interested, I will give it 4 or 5 stars. He goes to see the land and convinces his wife and good friend to spend the summer there, even though his mother warns him not to go. The estate is populated by three individuals of Greek origins who play pan pipes, dance in the woods and carry on other strange rituals. The house is decorated with characters from ...more

Not very impressed with this book. I found it boring and predictable most of the time. Fortunally, it was a 99 cent buy for me.
