I really enojyed this book. This whole series was something I actually got into a lot. The only thing that disapointed me was that this is the last book of the series. I really wish we heard for from the characters, I fould Cyrus wasn't finished. I felt I could read more of his story and more of the rest of the characters stories.But all in all I really enjoyed the series...I just hoped for more books. Which isn't bad. In the first installment of the Blood Ties series, Carrie is working at the mourge at the hospital and is turned into a vampire. She then meets Nate and his son Ziggy. She is helped in the process of being turned into a vampire by Nate, and then they fall for eachother.
Cyrus is the character(vampire) who turns Carrie at the morgue that night and she finds herself always comming back to him in each installment, even if it's not something she wants.
In this book(the final book) the Soul Eater on the verge of god status. Carrie is pushed to limits she didn't think she'd ever have to be pushed to. And she finds she might loose more than she would want to give up. There's a lot of action in this book and I found myself of the edge of my self for some parts. Old friends reappear, including some dead ones(:)). This book really shows how it is pretty hard to make a vampire stay dead for long.

I've got plenty of power on my side, and some I didn't know I could count on in the first place. But it's nothing compared to the army of the undead the Soul Eater is building up. And time is running out.

They say that good always triumphs over evil. I hope that's true. Because the odds aren't in our favor, and the fate of the world is in our hands.

I really enjoyed this series, and hope that others will as well. I am looking forward to Jennifer's new series Lightworld/Darkworld. :)

After 4 books of VAMPIRE VAMPIRE VAMPIRE they turn out HUMAN in the end?! Argh!! Most of the time during this book I was shaking my head in disgust or wanting to stab Carrie. I found her even more annoying. Every character's sexual past was almost insestuous. Out of all of the people in the world did they all have to sleep with each other. For instance Ziggy slept with Bill, Cyrus, and Jacob (father of Cyrus) - Ziggy...more WTF. Seriously. WHAT IN THE HEL WAS THAT?! The ending was the worst thing ever. And sadly, I think the only character I ended up liking in the end was Cyrus. He was pretty likeable in the fact that he didn't care if he was a total a-hole since he knew it was what people were expecting. My heart broke for him in book 2 when he lost his only love because Carrie was such a moron. All of the other characters got a say in the epilogue thing except Cyrus. If there was a series about Cyrus I think I would absolutely adore it. I love things from his perspective and he's just an awesome dude.

Carrie just drives me crazy like you wouldn't believe. She does not deserve Cyrus at all. After 4 books of a love triangle (sometimes more of a love octagon) she just comes to the conclusion, "oh, by the way, I don't love you, my brain is stupid." It was not believable after 3 books of constant Carrie/Cyrus stuff.

One thing I did not like about this installment in the series was Max and Bella. They were both really awesome characters that I enjoyed until this book. This book they were all lovey dovey and so sappy I was tempted to skip over any parts where they talked to each other. Bella was this awesome, strong character who just turned into wimpy wilty lady waiting for her man. It was a real disappointment.

I wish so much that I could have loved this series more. I really liked the tone and the vampire properties, but I just was not rooting for Carrie and Nate (or the constant "just kidding, I'm not dead" thing). All of their problems were just instantly solved in the end by them becoming human. Lame.

You would recommend this book to? People who love sex and gore.
Which is practically why this book completely grew on me over night. I really didn't like the ending... it was too fairy tale. I was really getting into the darkness of it. A slow, uneven read that finally picked up some steam with the last fifty pages or so.

What investment I'd found in the characters of Carrie, Nathan and Cyrus disappeared with this installment. Max and Bella seemed to be nothing more than add-on characters this time. Sort of an "Oh yeah, they're in the story too, I should write something about them as well." moment for Ms. Armintrout.

And even though the main thrust of preparing for the battle against the Soul-Eater lies with Carrie, dual natured vampire/werewolf hybrid Max who has his own struggles, Ziggy with his divided loyalties, and newcomer to the series Bill an ex-Marine blood supplier -- the only human amid all the vamps but whose acceptance may help to win Ziggy back his soul -- also play important roles. Jennifer Armintrout's Blood Ties is the best contemporary vampire series I've read in recent years. Blood Ties tops out Charlaine Harris' "Sookie Stackhouse" series and also MaryJanice Davidson's "Queen Betsy" series by FAR! Our main protagonist and heroine Carrie has wit and intelligence that the ditzy, annoying and ridiculous females from the aforementioned series above lack considerably.

All Souls Night is the fourth and final book of the Blood Ties series in which Carrie and gang must conquer the evil Soul Eater, whom is close to establishing "God" status. Characters both alive and dead from the previous three books come back in All Souls Night to help Carrie win the battle of good versus evil.

Armintrout has built up a cast of strong, stable characters we've grown to know and appreciate, with great rapport and a terrific ongoing storyline. After having several years of separation from the series with a large gap between books three and four, I found it incredibly easy to jump back into the Blood Ties world - it was as if I had read the previous novels yesterday.

I love how Armintrout has given Carrie newfound powers in All Souls Night without being over-the-top triumphant, and I'm always loving how Carrie was a doctor in her previous life versus a shoe-collecting whore or waitress like rivaling vampire series, ahem. I must also say All Souls Night is a first and a breakthrough for me when it comes to homosexual love scenes between two men. I am proud to say that Armintrout has done a tasteful, outstanding job in approaching the gay love scene in the classiest way possible. This particular scene is very erotic and hot, without being disturbing, or even disgusting for those normally against reading gay or lesbian romantic fiction. I'm so impressed!

The ending of All Souls Night and the finale to the Blood Ties series is everything I wanted it to be, and also very romantic.

I am really looking forward to reading Armintrout's Lightworld/Darkworld series which begins with Queene of Light (2009). Don't miss the rest of the Blood Ties series beginning with The Turning (2006), Possession (2007) and Ashes to Ashes (2007).

I could rave on about the character development and the great plot. I was impressed by the way that Armintrout builds the characters up for the final confrontation and actually gives them the skills to have a hope of winning.

I really enjoyed the final journey to Armintrout's Blood Ties world where sacrifices are always required, death is not always permanent and endings are not predictable - who'd have thought that a series so dark could end with a promise of light.

I loved this finale to the series the most. I thought it was great to hear from Ziggy and i was so glad to see he got some happiness. And i was glad to see Max again, though he was quite distracted. Meinungsbildung:
Zuerst muss ich betonen, das ich diese Vampirliebesromane eigentlich nicht mag, außer die Vampire sind wirklich ein bisschen blutig. Denn… gefällt es uns nicht wenn tödliche Wesen eine weiche Seite haben?
Naja, dieses Buch ist nicht so! Es sind ganz nette Hauptfiguren, die versuchen friedlich unter Menschen zu leben ohne zu morden. Aber Jennifer Armintrout hat es so toll geschrieben. Man kann sich sehr gut in die Gefühle der Hauptfiguren einfühlen. Carrie ist ständig verwirrt, weil ihr vampirisches Leben schon nicht wirklich einfach war, sie stand ständig zwischen zwei Männern. In diesem Buch hat sie sich endlich entschieden und dann gibt es doch Ärger, denn so lange der bösartige Soul Eater lebt können Carrie und Nathan nicht glücklich werden.
Diese Bücher haben zwar nette Hauptfiguren, doch ist die Geschichte nicht nett. Sie strotzt vor Spannung! Eine gut geschriebene Entführung, Magie und am Ende ein blutiger Kampf zwingen einen die Seiten weiter umzublättern und weiter zu lesen. Ich kann nur sagen das ich die Charaktere alle mochte, ob sie gut oder böse oder beides waren! Jennifer Armintrout kann nämlich sehr gut die wirkliche Menschlichkeit in den Figuren einfangen und darstellen lassen.
Aber dann noch das Ende, es ist der 4. Band und wirklich der letzte Band! Es ist so toll geschrieben und super schön erdacht! Ich… ich wüsste nicht wie eine Vampirreihe besser enden könnte! Und ich habe etwas über mich gelernt, auch wenn ich angeblich sehr gerne offene Enden lese… ein wirklich gut erdachtes Happy End macht mir doch auch sehr viel Freude!

Fazit:
Extrem guter Abschluss einer Vampir-Reihe und ein wirklich guter Grund sie überhaupt zu lesen!(less)

Final book in the series. Didn't love it. Somewhere along the way, I got mighty confused. Who was where and why... People getting kidnapped... People being pregnant... BUT! After the big showdown, the story winds down and all storylines are tied up. The ending is a little surprising but it works and I liked it. And it leave it ALL open to have more books if MS. Armintrout decides to revisit this world.

I love this series and I can't wait to read more books from this author! The characters in these books don't have happy lives. Events don't just fall nicely into place. There is heartbreak, there is drama, but it's not whiney, nor is it too sad to be enjoyable. The only complaint I have is that I don't know why they decided to bring a certain character back in this book, even if he did play a role which was crucial to the resolution of the story. i felt that this was the best in the series and ACTUALLY held my attention, unlike the others that were very boring.

Got ebook omnibus/bundle of this series. Made it thru most of second book. Past first chapter, despite liking author's earlier series, could not get into characters or the storyline. Skimmed chapters of rest and just never caught my interest. Was definitely "urban fantasy" and way too violent (senseless, bloody, and explicitly violent) to ever be suited to YA audience so at least was no Twilight wannabe kinda vampire book. This is a decent vamp-lit series.
I read the first one a while ago, but I remember not thinking it was all that great at first, but the books definitely get better as they go.
It has an interesting plot/storyline, but sometimes the writing is annoying, like the constant changing back and forth from first person to third.
It was always a bit confusing and took me out of the story whenever it would change.

Enjoyed this installment in the Blood Ties series even though the Carrie + Nathan relationship ups and downs were becoming a bit predictable. Would love it if there was another book now to continue the story with them in their present form and the possibilities of what they may become again etc (trying not to put in any spoilers) Loved the style of writing which was brilliant and made it so easy to flow through and read. it went from amazing to jut liked it on the rating stars..armintrout oh how u disappoint me, i might just bite u;P
carrie cyrus no-love lost realization was too sudden, BANG thats all it took, really shallow if u ask me
and u could have resurructed carrie -nate in the next book and they could have had baby and finally they should have again been turned to vampires...yada yada yada..atleast it would been longer
this bk was really fast paced than the others..would have been nice to have had a nxt bk...more

This is the fourth and final book in the Blood Ties series. Rating: 2.5 stars I would have to really struggle to find myself rating this book any higher than this.

All Soul’s Night is the Last book in the Blood Ties series by Jennifer Armintrout. Some won’t be happy with my review, while others who have also suffered along with me through this series to get to the end, will agree with most of what I’m saying. Hopefully ::grin::

Carrie and crew are ready for their final showdown with the Soul Eater. Many people don't escape unharmed and their is carnage and twists aplenty. This story finds a way to wrap up all the loose 'blood' ties and I was completely satisfied with the conclusion. I have wavered with these books and found them to be quite uneven. Carrie is a vampire as well as Max, and Ziggy in addition there is Bill and Nathan who are both humans. As much time as Bill hangs out with vampires he will never understand their hunger need for blood. The Soul Eater has rallied up an army of vampires. Carrie always knew this day would come and now it’s here. Carrie is ready to put a stop to the Soul Eater even if it means she has to sacrifice her life to do so.
