I have reached my breaking point. And now I will not, cannot be stopped. With the Soul Eater on the verge of god status, it's time for me to take a final stand, even if it means losing everything I love. Even if it means losing my life.I've got plenty of power on my side, and some I didn't know I could count on in the first place. But it's nothing compared to the army of t...more

I really enojyed this book. This whole series was something I actually got into a lot. The only thing that disapointed me was that this is the last book of the series. I really wish we heard for from the characters, I fould Cyrus wasn't finished. I felt I could read more of his story and more of the rest of the characters stories. But all in all I really enjoyed the series...I just hoped for more books. Which isn't bad. I don't not like how the author ended it, I just hoped for more is all. I fou...more

You would recommend this book to? People who love sex and gore.
Which is practically why this book completely grew on me over night. I really didn't like the ending... it was too fairy tale. I was really getting into the darkness of it. I mean the whole story has been sort of fucked up and not fairy tale, except for the amount of fantasy, but this is a vampire novel, so it works. Those who have read it will know that the gore in this was very different.. in fact.. it was pretty disgusting, but I...more

A slow, uneven read that finally picked up some steam with the last fifty pages or so.

What investment I'd found in the characters of Carrie, Nathan and Cyrus disappeared with this installment. Max and Bella seemed to be nothing more than add-on characters this time. Sort of an "Oh yeah, they're in the story too, I should write something about them as well." moment for Ms. Armintrout.

The one bright spot in this book was the introduction of Bill and his involvement with the other characters. I fee...more

As I was reading this book, there were times I thought I would be giving it a 3-star rating, and at other times it had solid 5-star elements. Overall, I'm going to go with 4 stars because I did enjoy it and I think it was a really great end to the series.

The aspects to this book (and the series as a whole) that didn't quite hit the mark with me were the characters' relationships. Sometimes they seemed to know everything about each other, their motivations for doing things, etcetera, despite havi...more

In this book it's not only good against evil, it's also the good guys wondering how evil they are capable to become to defeat the Soul Eater.

Ziggy's coming back, totally changed by his sire's wickedness, now an adult person, darker than ever, and making you wondering at every single page who's side is he going to be, and yet knowing it from the beginning was awesome.
Carrie, becoming more powerful, dangerous and decided than she's ever been, being capable of things no one could expect from her,...more

Jennifer Armintrout's Blood Ties is the best contemporary vampire series I've read in recent years. Blood Ties tops out Charlaine Harris' "Sookie Stackhouse" series and also MaryJanice Davidson's "Queen Betsy" series by FAR! Our main protagonist and heroine Carrie has wit and intelligence that the ditzy, annoying and ridiculous females from the aforementioned series above lack considerably.

All Souls Night is the fourth and final book of the Blood Ties series in which Carrie and gang must conquer...more

A full 5 stars! Out of the darkness of all Souls' Night, comes light
All Soul's Night is the satisfying conclusion to a series that has reinvented itself with every book. Vampires Carrie and Nathan are taking a breather before the final battle to stop the cunning Soul-Eater whose powers grow with each vampire soul he 'drinks, a battle that they are ill equiped to fight. After withholding his love for three books, Nathan is finally ready to love Carrie, but Carrie is now the one holding herself ap...more
Fiendishly Bookish
At long last, Armintrout's edgy and recalcitrant vampire heroine Carrie Ames faces off against the Soul Eater in the final novel of the series.

This time, Carrie has definitely got more than game going for her. Armed with powers culled from Dahlia's blood (and she'll need more), she might finally have what it takes to crush Jacob Seymour once and for all-and she might actually be able to walk away from it alive (read: undead) or somewhere in between (that's a teaser folks)

But embracing these po...more

I really loved this book. Sure, the ending was a bit idyllic, but the rest of the book retained its dark atmosphere.

(view spoiler)[ I really liked that Jennifer brought Ziggy back. At first, I thought that he was a douche, but then I saw another side of him. His and Bill's relationship happened a bit fast, but it was still sweet. Bill becoming a vampire was a bit expected, though. (hide spoiler)]

Cyrus... How I love and hate you. I hated you in the first book, but then in "Possession", I fell in...more

"Though I was a little worried, I loved The turning but was slightly disappointed in possession and ashes to ashes, not that they were horrible books, I just think I was expecting alittle more b/c the turning is one of my favorite books ive read thus far. This book is definitly the ending to a great series! It seems everything is put to rest in this book and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it!

In this book Carrie finds out more about herself. Through the whole series she's always been confus...more

I loved this finale to the series the most. I thought it was great to hear from Ziggy and i was so glad to see he got some happiness. And i was glad to see Max again, though he was quite distracted. And i liked the new addition of Bill, i quite liked him. But partway though the book it made me quite sad, because it was ending and i couldn't bear to finish it but i was scared to finish it because everything seemed to be hopeless. But this was such a fantastic read and i thought it ended quite wel...more

ok....so I have very mixed feelings about this book. Cyrus is my favorite part of the series. I love how much Hs character has improved and strengthened. (view spoiler)[then he died. And came back. And now he died. AGAIN. that kinda ticks me off. (hide spoiler)]

And Nate. god I hate him! throughout the series he is still so wrapped up in his dead wife. I know he loved her but get over her! and then he claims to love carrie even though he can't let her go. how is that love in any sense if the word...more

Final book in the series. Didn't love it. Somewhere along the way, I got mighty confused. Who was where and why... People getting kidnapped... People being pregnant... BUT! After the big showdown, the story winds down and all storylines are tied up. The ending is a little surprising but it works and I liked it. And it leave it ALL open to have more books if MS. Armintrout decides to revisit this world.

I have to say that during books 2 and 3, I thought maybe I'd have to quit reading. The stories...more

I love this series and I can't wait to read more books from this author! The characters in these books don't have happy lives. Events don't just fall nicely into place. There is heartbreak, there is drama, but it's not whiney, nor is it too sad to be enjoyable. The only complaint I have is that I don't know why they decided to bring a certain character back in this book, even if he did play a role which was crucial to the resolution of the story. That said, I'm glad that this story had a happy e...more

suprisingly not bad!
i felt that this was the best in the series and ACTUALLY held my attention, unlike the others that were very boring.
allthough something did accure to me while reading this book that i thought i would share, the author has constantly reminded us that the vampires in this series can die with a bad enough car crash! (i no stupid) but the story goes that the soul eater and cyrus have been removing the 'second' heart (more stupiness) from a vimpire to keep them loyal, so how i as...more

Got ebook omnibus/bundle of this series. Made it thru most of second book. Past first chapter, despite liking author's earlier series, could not get into characters or the storyline. Skimmed chapters of rest and just never caught my interest. Was definitely "urban fantasy" and way too violent (senseless, bloody, and explicitly violent) to ever be suited to YA audience so at least was no Twilight wannabe kinda vampire book. That first chapter sample was very misleading. I do not like my character...more

This is a decent vamp-lit series.
I read the first one a while ago, but I remember not thinking it was all that great at first, but the books definitely get better as they go.
It has an interesting plot/storyline, but sometimes the writing is annoying, like the constant changing back and forth from first person to third.
It was always a bit confusing and took me out of the story whenever it would change.
Should've just stuck with third person, but I think the first book was all from the main charact...more

Enjoyed this installment in the Blood Ties series even though the Carrie + Nathan relationship ups and downs were becoming a bit predictable. Would love it if there was another book now to continue the story with them in their present form and the possibilities of what they may become again etc (trying not to put in any spoilers) Loved the style of writing which was brilliant and made it so easy to flow through and read. It is slightly more adult content with the love/sex scenes I suppose but th...more

Carrie and Co are back with this last instalment of the Blood Ties Series. When Carries beloved Nathan is kidnapped by his supposedly dead son and took to Jacob the Soul Eater, Carries life dramatically changes for the worst when she rescues him. With the dreaded ritual coming up to make Jacob a god, Dahila locked in Carries head and Carrie receiving her magic power, things are pretty crazy. Will they stop Jacob in time? Or will they be too late?

This book was surprisingly better than the last tw...more

This is the fourth and final book in the Blood Ties series. Readers who've stuck with the series through each blood soaked page will be either greatly relieved or incredibly disappointed at the happy all wrapped up ending..well except for one major character that I hope is still alive and living a quiet debauched life somewhere safe. Because the books are so connected, it is hard to give a review on this book alone without discussing the entire series. This book begins at about the 6th month mar...more

Rating: 2.5 stars I would have to really struggle to find myself rating this book any higher than this.

All Soul’s Night is the Last book in the Blood Ties series by Jennifer Armintrout. Some won’t be happy with my review, while others who have also suffered along with me through this series to get to the end, will agree with most of what I’m saying. Hopefully ::grin::

So, in summary of the books events since most of it was background noise for what really happens in the end, here is your run down...more

Carrie and crew are ready for their final showdown with the Soul Eater. Many people don't escape unharmed and their is carnage and twists aplenty. This story finds a way to wrap up all the loose 'blood' ties and I was completely satisfied with the conclusion. I have wavered with these books and found them to be quite uneven. This book made it worth the entire struggle (sometimes) and joy (sometimes) to get here. Carrie finally gets her head on straight and sees herself and others as they are and...more

Carrie is a vampire as well as Max, and Ziggy in addition there is Bill and Nathan who are both humans. As much time as Bill hangs out with vampires he will never understand their hunger need for blood. The Soul Eater has rallied up an army of vampires. Carrie always knew this day would come and now it’s here. Carrie is ready to put a stop to the Soul Eater even if it means she has to sacrifice her life to do so.

I would not recommend reading this book without having first read the other three b...more

“No one's place in this world is guaranteed. Not everyone is going to get a happy ending. But life isn't about how it ends. It's about the moments between. It's about the small things. The way our loved ones laugh. The sight of a butterfly in the sunlight after a year or two in the darkness.
The love and support of an old friend. They might not be with us in body, but they are with us in spirit.
...
Because every day, on this planet, people are born and people die and stranger things happen.(Armintrout, All Souls' Night, 367)”
