Recommends it for: a persistent or learned person interested in non-dualism and/or non-attachment
This is a difficult book to review, primarily because the concepts within it are quite esoteric. I'm not entirely sure of the audience who will come to read this review, so I shall try to make this as approachable as possible.

Do not read this unless you are actively pursuing a spiritual path. It possesses an unheralded amount of spiritual nihilism that will not produce positive results for the casual reader. It is a meditation and proclamation that we are already awake and merely need to awaken to this awakeness. If you like Richard Rose, Jed McKenna, Franklin Merrell-Wolff, Douglas Harding, Nisargadatta Maharaj, UG Krishnamurti or Wei Wu Wei you'll like Astavakra.

Astavakra Samhita is in the form of
dialogue between sage Astavakra and king Janak who was his disciple.
The theme is monistic Vedanta based on Upnishada. This book is highly revered by scholars. This classic treatise dispels the ignorance and helps in understanding the true nature of Self.
