I simply feel in love with this story. It hits on a lot of truth of how life was back then.
Ariella is my kind of woman, has a strong head on her shoulders and want is what is right.
But most of all she wont give up on what she wants. Even if it scar’s her to death. The one thing she is 100% sure she wants from first sit is Emilian. Who is part gypsy and part English. But she believes in love at first sit and that is it for her. She strong and fights for what she wants. Now Emilian hates...more

Ariella has always been a bit of an eccentric. Highly intelligent, with a vast thirst for knowledge, she has never desired a man. Indulged by her father, she has enjoyed the freedom to pursue her interests, even when he hoped she would one day find the true love of her life. Coming uopn the Romany gypsys camping on her father's fields, she is finally awakened to the passionate side of her nature by Emilian.

I am trying to persuade myself that this takes place in some sort of alternate universe England, because the whole of the plot rests on something that is impossible in this world. It is simply not possible for an illegitimate child to inherit a title, especially when there are legitimate heirs as close as a brother and nephew, no matter how slimy they are. I also have my doubts about a marriage ceremony which takes place without banns and as far as we are given to understand without a special ...more

As was so pleased with how much I enjoyed the Perfect Bride that I decided to try another book in the same series. Unfortunately that didn't prove to be a very wise decision in the end because both the hero and the heroine annoyed me to no end.
The hero is half gypsy. He was made to leave his mother to go live with his father while still a child, he was made fun of and abused while growing up and even today, after he inherited a title, he is not well received in the neighborhood...more

What a great book this was! It was my first book to read in Brenda Joyce's de Warenne Dynasty, even though it is actually book #11 in the series. Looks like I'll have to backtrack and read more about this family as they sound different and eccentric and right up my alley!
A Dangerous Love features Emilian, a tortured hero with one foot living in the Romany world and another foot in the Englishman's world. His mother is Romany but ever since he was 12 years old he has been raised by...more

This book was really intense. It was the first of de Warenne Dynasty and Brenda Joyce I had read. I was hooked. Her charecters were complex but neatly described. I probably cried in 4 or 5 different spots, it was such an emotional roller coaster. She's a really great writer and after reading this book I went back and checked-out at the library or purchased the prior books in the series. They're an intense family with lots of history and good family support (if they're willing to use it) and a...more
I have re-read this and since changed my rating. The beginning of the story is very, very good. It started out being executed quite perfectly. I really enjoyed this couple in the beginning but towards the end it becomes a big mess. BJ seems to have no direction or idea of how she wants them to be together. She wastes pages and pages of nonsense completely changing the format of the story for me. It lost it's goal, it showed no kind of resolution. I.Don't.Understand. Why. She had to go and ruin a...more
I LOVED the heroine! She's SO like me. I liked the fact that it included Gypsy's, as they've always fascinated me. I think they added a spicy element :) I like also how there's a heroine more than a hero. Ariella rescues Emilian more than he rescues her. That's a nice change of pace from the usual damsel books. But Emilian's epiphany seemed a little too... easy? quick? But not quick, because of where in the book he has it, but... I don't know, it just didn't work for me. I'm glad that it ended u...more
(2.5 Stars) This book was enjoyable enough, but it's one of the weaker stories in the series. The author focused a bit too much on the prejudice against the gypsies and not enough time building the relationship between the characters. Story definitely lagged at several points but picked up at the end.
This book wasn't awful. Though there were a few things I didn't like. First of all Ariella is suppose to be smart, but she seems rather naive. Emilian is one of the most complicated male characters in a book that I have read aside from Alexi in the promise.
Hero's the half-gypsy bastard legitimized son of an English nobleman who's faced prejudice his whole life. Heroine is the free-spirited daughter of an unusual family--she's very, very well traveled, and her parents don't care who she marries, as long as she's in love. And this gypsy guy--who they don't realize is the nobleman who owns a neighboring estate for half the book--isn't likely to love her back. They first meet him with a gypsy band and think he's their leader. The heroine is madly attr...more
This book tugged at my heart strings. The girls was so nieve that it bothered me but other than that, it was a really good romance novel with those few unexpected plot turns you didnt expect.
The Viscount Emilian St. Xavier was beginning to annoy me towards the end but thank goodness he found the error of his ways! I am beginning to really enjoy Brenda Joyce and the stories she weaves!
I enjoyed this book a lot. The characters were well written and interesting and the plot was pretty good. Emilian was the kind of character you couldn't help but empathize with. I will be recommending this book.
I love a good Gypsy book and this book did not let me down. This is the first book I have read of Brenda Joyce, I'd like to find more of her books.
Loved this book. One of the best books I have read in quite some time. From beginning to end I was entertained.
Crap book. Barely able to finish. The only interesting parts were Cliff and Amanda and the rest of the Family
This book was a little frustrating the female lead character was constantly chasing the male lead character and most of the time he was actin' a fool!!

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series - Brenda Joyce never disappoints!!
3 Stars...I liked it
This was pretty good for the type of cheesy romance novel that it is. I was however disapointed b/c I know Joyce has more than this to offer in a story...But overall it was a pretty descent way to pass a cold and rainy afternoon.
I really enjoyed catching up with Cliff, Alexi, Amanda and all the other characters she's written about over the years...I sure miss the way our favorite authors used to write *sigh*...

The story of another de Warenne, Ariella. She is a radical bluestocking who has lived independently and contentedly for years without needing a man in her life. He is the conflicted Viscount St. Xavier who is struggling with his dual heritage, Romany and British. Sparks fly and bigotry rears its ugly head while these two very dissimilar people discover more about their true characters and fall in love.
I love a good gypsy hero. Emilian Viscount St. Xavier was torn between the 2 worlds pulling at him. The gypsy world and one of the English gentry, and then along came Ariella de Warenne. He tries to resist her and her world, but love's pull is too strong.
I know I am going against the average for this book, but I really enjoyed it!
I can see I'm going to have to start reading more of the de Warenne Dynasty series.

This was not a light and happy romance novel that I was use to reading- it was dark book.
forced myself to finish since I've read the other deWarenne books.
Great Love story I liked it. :0)
