Irresistible Forces (Steele Series #5)
One week of mind-blowing sex on a beautiful Caribbean island. Of all the business proposals financial tycoon Dominic Saxon has heard, Taylor Steele's is definitely the most tempting. All Taylor wants in return is for Dominic to father her baby. No strings, no commitments...just a mutually satisfying arrangement. Make that very satisfying. For a man with no intention of mar...more

i really like this book & the characters. the book it's self is very HOT. there are several books in the series before this one. i didn't feel like i was missing anything. it just made me think 'I really should read the earlier books'. I will definately be playing catch-up with this...more

Under normal circumstances this silly plot would have annoyed the hell out of me but I was in the mood for a simplistic and hot romance and this one delivered. There's a lot of info dumping and cliches galore so at first I thought this had been a debut novel but a few chapters in, like a million cousins and sisters were mentioned with a rehashing of their HEAs, so I figured this must be part of a series.

Read this on my Kindle while walking my treadmill, trying to keep in some kind of shape (ha,ha). Anyhoo… This is a steamy romance from Kimani Romance of Harlequin. I have read a few other books by Brenda Jackson and I really like her writing style (not that I could coherently explain what that style is) so when I saw this as a Kindle book I got it.

This seems to be one of those books that everybody seems to hate but i absolutely loved it. I started reading this today and i couldn't get myself to put my kindle down. The storyline is very predictable but non the less it was a really good one, i loved how Dominic just kept trying to tell himself that it couldn't be and that he wasn't in love with her but eventually he gave in anyway. I also very much appreciated the background stories on the main characters, i loved reading how passionate Tay...more
This book is terrible! The premise was interesting, but honestly, the main character needs to be older than 25 for us to believe she's as uber-successful as we are repeatedly told and that she needs to find someone to get her pregnant because she's not married. It's ridiculous. What's also ridiculous is that Dominic has sworn never to marry again at the tender age of 34 because his wife died 4 years earlier--however, he also mentions that he never really loved her in the way that his parents wer...more
31/2 stars. This is the first Brenda Jackson book I've read and I am now a fan. The writing was on point and the characters were pretty well flushed out. The plot was predictable but I was still intrigued. I did notice there were some inconsistencies though. Initially we are told the H/H had only had a strictly professional relationship, but later in the story it was stated that Taylor took Dominic to Coney Island to have a little fun. The dialogue was also a little awkward at times, only becau...more
It became way too obvious to me that this book is part of a series. I hate that. I don't want to be diverted from the story (even a shallow Harlequin series plot) to read all kinds of out-of-place details about other characters and complicated backstory that does nothing for the current plot (or even a secondary plot) but connect the characters of the different books. Aggravating. And there was a lot of repetition and stating of the obvious, as far as the writing in general is concerned. I had t...more
Membaca novel ini karena ada ebook gratis. Buku ini cukup lucu bagiku....hero & heroinenya cukup unik tapi kurang mendalam karakternya. Karakternya setengah - setengah gitu.

I've been on a Hot Romance Novel tear of late. I think I need a Harlan Coben mystery or something to break the trend.
I actually read Irresistible Forces, by Brenda Jackson, about a month or so ago. It is nothing if not an extremely Hot Romance Novel.
Taylor Steele (gotta love that name) is a successful professional woman who has decided that her career is not all she wants in her life. She wants a baby. And in typical take-charge fashion, she knows who she wants to father her baby: Dominic Saxon...more

Downloaded this book because it was offered for free on Kindle. I've never read a romance novel before, so I'm not sure if the entire genre is meant to be as cheesy or if it was just this particular book. Despite the cheesiness, though, I finished the entire book and actually found myself looking forward to reading more as I neared the latter portion of it.

I should stop reading these kind of books for a while because they are annoying the **** out of me. This book, the story and its main characters annoyed me numerous times, and I should have stopped reading it after the first chapter, but I really wanted to give this book a chance. I guess I should stick with my original idea in the future.

Taylor Steele, a professional wealth and assets manager, knows she wants to have a baby. She just doesn’t want a husband. She also doesn’t want to take the adoption route, or be artificially inseminated. But who could she convince to help her conceive the natural way, with no strings attached? Taylor knows the only man that would make her plan work would be Dominic Saxon, one of her millionaire clients. Dominic is single, wealthy, and gorgeous. Taylor convinces him to go on a “procreation vacati...more
I was satisfied at every turn of the page. Taylor Steele is no ordinary woman. She is an intelligent Wealth and Asset Manager who wants nothing more than a baby, sans the husband!
Taylor is the epitome of fearless. I mean, how else can you describe a woman who proposes a "procreation vacation" to Dominic Saxon, a big time financial tycoon (She even hands him a brochure!)? She is nothing but true to herself when she lays her cards out on the table up front and tells Dominic that all she wants from...more

Irresistible Forces" is the first novel I've read by Brenda Jackson. She's an African-American author whose characters are AA. There aren't that many AA authors who write romance novels where the main characters are non-white. I was shocked that I hadn't discovered Brenda Jackson's books before.

I hesitate to call this a 'romance novel' because there is virtually no genuine romance (and by romance, I mean 'love') at all. At first I thought the premise was interesting. Okay, so a 25 year old woman wants a baby, but no husband. So she asks her super hot client to help her with this task. Cue super hot 34 year old man who just so happens to want a baby and no wife, and off they go to a tropical island paradise for one week, to do the deed. Now, I have to admit that by this point, I was alr...more
I usually try to give a book a chance before I rate it but I barely got halfway through this one. I liked Brenda Jackson and have come to expect a lot from her work, but this one missed the mark for me. I was bored to tears and honestly did not care about what happened to either the hero or the heroine. I got tired of hearing about how beautiful, perfect, and rich they both were and how much they wanted each other. I couldn't see any relationship developing, and to be honest couldn't help but wr...more
Taylor Steele have decided to start a family and she doesn't want to wait until she finds Mr. Right so she asks someone in her entourage to by Mr. Right-Now Baby-Father. Surprisingly, Dominic Saxon agrees to this because he never wants to marry again, but he does want a Saxon heir to inherit his riches.

I'd give it 2.5 stars if I could. It wasn't a bad book--and if you are looking for lots of steamy sex scenes, this is probably a go-to book--but it was weak in character development, plot, romance, and LOVE. It was a little unbelieveable that the heroine is so ready to become a mother (sans husband or boyfriend or whatever) at age 25 that she is willing to make a deal with a client to get there. And his acceptance is unreal as well. While they do have a lot of sexual chemistry and even respect f...more
This was the third book that I read of the 16 free books from Harlequin. As of this writing, these books are still available at http://harlequincelebrates.com.
I have read several of the Westmoreland Series books by Brenda Jackson, mainly because my budget draws me to cheap and free books. I was able to score a bundle of her books for very cheap on http://www.ereader.com/ a few years ago, and I was moderately pleased with them.

This novel was not poorly written and the characters were not shallow. However, the storyline was ridiculous and quite unrealistic. The story of a beautiful, intelligent, and highly successful 25-year old young woman who comes from a wealthy family desires a baby with no strings attached? That does not make any sense. Additionally, the portrayal of beauty and romance in this novel was completely Eurocentric. Moreover, I was a bit bored with the sex scenes - Jackson definitely overdid it. Chapter...more
I read a lot of the negative reviews of this book and because of that managed my expectations about what it would be like. But, I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think the author intended it to be titillating, fun, engaging and to leave a smile on readers' faces. It did all of those things for me. I gave it four stars for two reasons: the sex scenes were great (and considering there were so many of them, not at all repetitive which is quite a feat, let me tell you) but I think they may h...more
I just read Irresistable Forces by Brenda Jackson. It a romance novel about Taylor Steele and Dominic Saxon and how they both want children and spend a week on an island trying to conceive. And in the process, they fall in love.

Chemistry--Taylor and Dominic have it in spades. I really didn't think I'd enjoy this story as much as I did. My main issue? The heroine being that young and having a biological clock ticking quite that loudly. I mean, she's twenty-five. Really? But then, hey, I figured we all have clocks set to different alarms. Whatever. I did love that she wanted the baby sans any romantic relationship. She's definitely an independent spirit and very bold, which I love. When she and Dominic start their little...more
Irresistible Forces is the first of Brenda Jackson's books that I have read. It is a romance story about two very successful people, that know exactly how to get what they want. However as is the case in a lot of romances it is what they didn't realize they needed that throws them for a curve. This is a nice story, but there were a few minor negatives, such as grammatical errors, and a few of the scenes seemed to drag. However my biggest issue was the ending, epilogues are meant to summarize and...more
This is my first experience with this author and the book was more or less what I expected. Sappy, hypersexual and deliciously licentious, it made for a great quick and spicy read that was surprisingly hard to put down. The story line was a little over the top, the characters a little contrived and the plot very predictable but it was a pleasure to read. I started at midnight on a Saturday night and read well into the morning.
