Captain underpants

On their way to learn at their dreaded school Harry and George looked at a sign outside of their school that said "2nd Annual Invention Convention.the prize was they could be the principal for the day .But they didn’t get the chance to enter and got stuck in the study hall for the whole day. The night before Harry and George went where all the inventions were held and met with a guy named Malvern. Harry and G...more

Captain Underpants and the Attack of the Talking Toilets by Dav Pilkey is a story about two boys, George and Harold, who get into a lot of trouble. While in detention the two boys create a comic book about a super hero named Captain Underpants and evil toilets that want to take over the world. A classmate created a copy machine that turns pictures into actual living objects. Harold and George sneak out of detention to make copies of their comic, but everything goes horribly wrong. The drawin...more

You know, I almost don’t want to admit it, but I enjoyed Captain Underpants. Not to the point that I feel like I need to read another one, but certainly more than I expected. George and Harold are two bright yet… precocious young men who write their own comic books about a character they call Captain Underpants. Due to some accident that occurs in the first Captain Underpants book, their principal is occasionally hypnotized to believe he is Captain Underpants, during which time he sheds his c...more

Captain Underpants and the Attack of the Talking Toilets opens with a comic strip giving a premise of the book- telling the true story of how they hypnotized their principal. Two boys, Harold and George transform their principal into Captain Underpants whenever they snap their fingers. To stay out of trouble, the boys receive detention but instead find themselves in a world of trouble. They stumble on a super copier that breathes life into 2-D illustrations. Harold and Greg copied their newest c...more

So far, my favorite in the series. Harold and George go to the detention room. Mr Krupp their principal tells them to write the sentence "I will never do anything which angers my handsome and charming principal, Mr Krupp, ever, ever again." Once they finished writing the sentences, they had a lot of time to write a new comic to sell at the playground. Mr Krupp said if they left the detention room, they would be suspended. But George and Harold snuck out and tried to make copies of t...more

I can remember my younger brother reading this series when he was younger and getting a good laugh from them. I am not above toilet humor, pun intended, and that is exactly what this book delivers. It is two boys constantly getting into trouble and making jokes at the expense of the faculty. It has fantasies that boys crave, practical jokes on the principal and a copy machine that turns paper drawing into real life. I still think about these things to this day, but sadly cannot act upon them...more

Ever since The Super Diaper Baby 2 book I received from class and introduced to my boys, they are crazy mad over Dav Pilkey and Captain Underpants! This is a comic-like chapter book written by Harold and George, 2 students. They have turned their principal into Captain Underpants by using the Patsy 2000, a copying machine that turns pictures into real life people/objects. The principal must save the day when the toilets come to life and take over the school and town. This is such a silly story b...more

Captain Underpants and the Attack of the Talking Toilets opens with a cartoon strip of Harold and George, two kids that hypnotize their principle to turn into "Captain Underpants" whenever he hears finger snapping. The two boys get in trouble and are banned from a school function but refuse to listen to their orders. They sneak in and make copies of a comic strip where toilets come to life and attack. The adventure finally comes to a logical conclusion, that in reality, does not really...more

I choose this book because Captain Underpants is one of my favorite books. The plot of this book is about two elementary kids making their comic book come alive. I don't remember any quotes from the story but my favorite page was when the toilets come to live and start eating every teacher and student in the school. That was my favorite part because in real life I wish that the toilets it all the teachers so their wouldn't be any school. The thing about the book is that the two little boys alway...more

Imagine, one day you and a friend create a cartoon about talking toilets that plot to take over your school and eat your teachers. Now, imagine what would happen if your imaginary cartoon came to life? This is what happened in the book Captain Underpants and the Attack of the Talking Toilets by Dav Pilkey. Two friends create a hilarious cartoon that has their teachers and their school under attack by a vicious gang of talking toilets. When the boys go to make copies of their cartoon, they accide...more

Recommends it for: children starting to read chapter books
This is another hilarious book in the Captain Underpants series by Dav Pilkey. We really liked the first book and I'm not sure why we waited so long to read the next one. Our girls were howling with laughter and insisted that I read another chapter and another chapter until we finished the whole book in one reading (it's a quick read, but they still were up a little later than I'd like!) The humor is quite juvenile and the storyline is very predictable, but we all really liked it. They espec...more

Parents who aren't already on the Captain Underpants bandwagon are missing out. These books are fun, funny and most of all they get kids engaged with real books, not just game screens.

Harold and George are best friends and a pair of truly mischievous kids. In the first book they kinda sorta accidentally brainwashed their mean principal into becoming Captain Underpants, the comic superhero they created. In this book Principal Krupp (Captain Underpants' alter ego) is holding the second...more

Back by popular demand, more night readings with flip-o-rama and tra-la-laaaa! Good times.

...and let's not forget the explanation of why boys need urinals and girls don't, and the Uranus joke that flew over youngest's head.

All boy humor, all the time.
Good times!

It may not be classic literature, but I sure do enjoy the time youngest and I spend together. He would probably tell you that his Mama really gets into the characters, too. Thankfully, no recordin...more

If I was in second or third grade, I'd probably give this a 5. It definitely is not written for 24 year old librarians, but Dav Pilkey's book is awesomely clever and hilarious, and many reluctant and non-reluctant readers will love this book (though they might have already read it).

I'm sure there are those who will object to the subject of toilets/toilet humor etc. In this case, I'm not one of them.

1. A Graphic Novel.
2. My friend was reading it and said it was funny and childish.
3. I liked how it was a break from all the intense adult reading and how childish and young it made me feel.
4. It soon became to childish and got a bit boring, also it was too short to greatly enjoy it.
5. Readers under 10 or teenagers who want/need a break from all the heavy reading.

I enjoyed reading Captain Underpants and the Attack of the Talking Toilets. It was very funny, I liked the bit where they had to draw a picture of the robo plunger and it then turned into real life. I liked the other bit where they got some creamed minced beef and throw it in the talking toilets mouth and they then died. I would recommend this book to my friends.

Given that I had no expectations for enjoying this book at all, it was a nice surprise.

The heroes are these two boys who basically make a nuisance of themselves in school, and Captain Underpants is the "superhero" their principal turns into whenever someone snaps their fingers around him. Lots of potty humor in this one. I can see why kids like it.

On the one hand, I don't care for any book that contains vomitting toilets. On the other hand, my six year old six adored it and as soon as it was finished wanted to move on to the next one.

The vocabulary level is actually quite high, considering the subject matter. For example: "behemoth" I don't even know how to pronounce that.

I was not a big fan of this book. This was the first of the Captain Underpants series that I have read. It does not appear to be educational to me at all, other than being a funny and exciting read for young children. It is great for children to be interested in reading! However, I was not extremely thrilled with this particular book.

My 5 and 4 year old boys chortled and chuckled all the way through this ridiculous book. Its pages are packed full of toilet humour, naughtiness, and silliness - right up my boys' street. I had heaps of fun reading it with them, and as soon as we finished the last page they cried 'again mummy, read it again!!!'

Well i liked this book. It is really silly. They battle the toliets in their school by throwing food at them, when ever you snap your fingers he turns into capitan underpants and saves the day. The main charecters names are George and Harald . I liked this book because it is really funny.
