(6/10) I'm just not sure about this one. It seemed to slip through the sieves of my mind like a fog. Despite Kristeva's reputation for obscurity, this book uses mostly plain language to offer a review of the ideas that have gone into nationalism over time. Recommends it for: cosmopolitans.
Phew!!! Definitely one of the toughest books I've ever read. From Montesqiu to Freud, from ancient greek myth to current events on nationalism issues, this book is full of highly complicated terms one need to be familiar with certain references to be able to comprehend them fully, and unfortunately I haven't reached that stage. Well, at least I can conclude that being a part of a nation (nationality) is of different matter from being a citizen.
