Sheriff Matthews may not be the best at riding a horse but he does a great job at solving an old mystery as well as a confusing modern one. The motive turns out to be as old as the hills (and possibly a set up for the next book).

Plot is similar to Hillerman Dance Hall of the Dead
I loved her Sheriff series as well as her Book club mysteries. I wish there were more coming.
