It all began when Ms. Frizzle showed the class a filmstrip about the human body. They knew trouble was about to start, because they knew Ms. Frizzle was the strangest teacher in school. They started out on a field trip one day at a science museum to see how their bodies get energy. The trip started out like any other trip. When it was time to go, everyone got back on the b ...more

The second non-fiction book I chose to review was The Magic School Bus Inside the Human Body by Joanna Cole. The Magic School Bus series are science fiction books. There are true facts in the books but it is also impossible to have the adventures that the class have. There are books about entering a human body, traveling through the solar system, visiting inside a beehive, and traveling back in time to see the dinosaurs, just to name a few. This book starts off with Ms. Frizzle's class learning ab ...more

The Magic School Bus is a popular, fun-filled science series in which a class of public-school students, led by the eccentric Ms. Frizzle, goes on magical field trips to new and unusual places. In this episode, their school bus shrinks to miniature size to be swallowed by one of the students. The rest of the class explores the inner workings of his body -- his intestines, circulatory system, nervous system, and respiratory system (at which point they are sneezed out and resume normal size). The ...more

A wonderful read from my childhood, one I’d certainly suggest for other youngsters. Whilst it is not my all-time favourite childhood read I can still recall all the details of this one meaning it certainly left a lasting impression upon my young mind.

And isn’t that what we want with children’s books, for them to leave a positive lasting impression?

I loved this book! They are always so creative and Ms. Frizzle is a crazy character that I think younger kids will love. I would use this book with 3-4th grade because it is a fun book, but the content is a little too advanced for the really young ones to understand like blood cells and the chambers of the heart.
The cover of the book shows the bus and the kids going through something in the body which would draw kids in because it seems very unrealistic and like an adventure. There are end page

The Magic School Bus Inside the Human Body is a children's book. A class of elementary students is on a field trip when they stop for lunch.Their bus shrinks down and they are swallowed, so they get a real look at the inside of the human body. The students experience what happens inside of people during digestion. Ms. Frizzle's class is never a normal one. The book is a good way for younger kids to learn science in a fun way.

Like many this is an American book, but unlike lots of others it doesn't pretend to be anything else. Far beyond the differences between English and American children this book opens up a plethora of learning opportunities for primary school aged children.

The book immediately draws you in with beautiful imagery and well designed characterisation, using both good language and comedy appropriate to primary aged children.

The story follows a class who have a magical teacher, she manages to shrink th

It is part of the Magic School Bus series. Check out my review on Magic School Bus: Inside the Earth to find out more about the series. In this one, Ms Frizzle shrinks the school bus and goes inside Arnold's body. They learn how the human digestive system, nervous system, circulatory system and how muscles work.
I liked it because it was funny that Arnold could feel them inside his body. I learned about the human body, it is educational and funny.

For my RDG 291 class we had to read a book that falls under the Si-Fi category. I found this category interesting because there is so much uniqueness to this category that many people have a certain mind set about this type of genre. For this genre I choose to read the Magic School Bus: Inside the Human Body. This book was so interesting to me and I really enjoyed reading it. The story is about Ms. Frizzle’s class was getting ready to go on a field trip at a museum. The class was learning about ...more

One of the greatest books to help teach children about the body and with the lovable Ms. Frizzle as the teach students will love to learn and want to be apart of her class. With its more intelligent concept the book does a great way at explaining the more advanced pice of biology in an easy to understand manner. This book is great for students between the grades 1st - 3rd with its easy to understand discussion of the human body. This book could be used inside of the elementary classroom to teach ...more

Ms. Frizzle takes her class on a field trip to help them learn about how the body turns food into energy. But when they stop for lunch, the get shrunk and end up being swallowed. They up close and personal, get to see how food gets turned into energy.
This would be a great book for when learning about the digestive system, or when learning about food being made into energy. It gives visuals and step by step of what happens when turning food into energy.

This book is about a teacher named Ms. Frizzle who takes her class on an adventure to learn about the human body. Unlike most lesson plans in the classroom, this one involved actually going inside the human body and learning about different characteristics. The students find themselves in body of another classmate. They see the stomach, heart, brain and more.

This book is great at sticking to the science fiction genre because it teaches children about the human body. Many people forget that scie

Instead of going to a science exhibit to learn about the human body, Ms. Frizzle shrinks the bus and Arnold accidentally swallows the bus. The class visits his digestive system, arteries, lungs, heart, brain, and muscles, finally departing through his nostrils when he sneezes. This book has great visuals and useful information about some of the organs in the human body and their function.

The informative novel The Magic School Bus Inside the Human Body by Joanna Cole is a story about Miss Frizzle’s class learning about the human body. However, the class takes extreme measures of research by entering Arnold’s body. The class is able to view his bloodstream, intestines, stomach, and so forth.
The informative novel was able to expand the reader’s awareness by letting them take a walk into a world of Miss Frizzle’s class. By getting the perspective of the class, the reader is able to

Although this book is certainly fictional, I would consider it to be as much of an informational text as it is a science fiction. This story about a crazy teacher and her class field trip to a nearby science museum that suddenly goes wrong as they enter another student's digestive system certainly both entertained and informed.

The story itself is very fun to read and would be great to share with an elementary school class. It begins with Ms. Frizzle's class heading out on a field trip to learn

Joanna Cole's The Magic School Bus Series are informational books about science topics that are important for children to know. Summery- The Magic School Bus Inside the Human Body by Joanna Cole is about Mrs. Frizzle's class going on another wild journey, this time it is through the human body. Mrs. Frizzle's school bus actually gets swallowed, and through this journey the students are able to learn all about the human body.

Text- This text is very complicated because it is not in paragraph or an organized form. Frankly it is kind of all over the place, but that doesn't mean anything bad. because of this, I think that ol

• Summarize the book

The wild and wonderful school teacher Ms. Frizzle, takes her class on a field trip through the human body by shrinking the magic school bus. The students explore the interior landscape of the body with the reader encountering all kinds of scientific info. Also, the class has to figure out how to get out safely so there is some drama around this challenge. (Ultimately, it's a sneeze that does the trick).

Ms. Frizzle's class is supposed to go to the museum, but instead they end up taking the magic school bus inside classmate Arnold's digestive system.

The art is cartoony and cute, but also does a great job of showing what the inside of the human body actually looks like. Images fill the entire page, with text blocks, mini-reports by students, and cartoon bubble dialogue incorporated into the picture. The illustrations are easy to follow but involve a lot of little details to be discovered in each

This is a pretty cool science book for children in which Ms. Frizzle and her strange school bus venture inside the body of Arnold, one of the kids in class. I remember liking this book when I was a kid. As an adult, though, I was simultaneously disappointed that they only explored limited areas of the body and grossed out by the areas that they did explore. I'm learning that there are a lot of things that don't gross me out, but thinking about the viscera inside of me is not one of them. Talking ...more
