This is on the high side of Roberts' 1990s books. It's nothing stellar, with characters a little too predictably emotional and a plot that doesn't quite gel, for me. Spence is a bit too... commanding for the rest of his personality as a professor and composer and single dad. Natasha is a bit too... passive for the rest of her personality as an entrepreneur and dancer and with strong family support.

That said, this is one of Roberts' best depictions of a dependent child with Freddie (Frederica) st

I enjoyed this book, it was sweet and nice.
When the heroine Natasha meets the hero, she has a very bad impression of him mainly because she thinks he's a married man hitting on her while buying a toy for his daughter but she soon learns differently when she see him in class. The hero is a famous musician and composer and a widowed father who moved to give his daughter a new life and unexpectedly found a woman who awakens deep passion in him and is very prickly.

The moves are made by the
The thing is that I started The Stanislaskis series beackwards with Waiting for Nick/ Considering Kate, and realized there were two othe books. I absolutly loved Taming Natasha because it's so heartbreaking what both Tash and Spence go through, and it's all about regaining one's sense of self. I think so far it's my favortie of the series. I loved the setting and the atmosphere very small town, and cozy and comfortable kind of like the McCade Brothers series. I loved The Fun House and how passio ...more
Taming Natasha is book one in the Stanislaski series by Nora Roberts. It is a great book and an easy read. The characters are realistic as are the events in the plot.
Natasha Stanislaski had moved from New York City to a small town. She has all she wants and needs with her toy store and her home. She consistently refuses to have anything to do with men. What happened in her past to cause this? That perhaps is the reason she reacted to uncharacteristically when a gorgeous man came in with a woman
If you enjoy complicated plots and well developed characters, perhaps you should look elsewhere. When I reached the end of this book I was shocked ... because almost
nothing happens. Frigid toy store owner meets handsome music professor, he pursues her, she eventually acquiesces, she gets pregnant. Honestly, I picked this book up only because it was one of the few immediately available for download from my library as I was preparing for a long plane flight.
From the first moment that Spence Kimball set eyes on toy store owner Natasha Stanislaski, he was floored by her beauty, and wanted her more than any woman who came before. Natasha took one look at Spence and the wanting in his eyes and found herself drawn to him and at the same time disgusted. Thinking he was married and wanted an affair, Natasha convinced herself Spence was a cad.

Taking a class at the university, Natasha was incensed to discover her professor was Spence Kimball. Being moved by

One thing that's good about being sick, is getting to curl up with your favorite books. The Stanislaski series by Nora Roberts is one of my all time faves. I've read and reread this series over and over since my teen years. I was so happy to find it out as an ebook! Now I'm hoping my Nook will charge quickly so I can continue the series while I recover from the flu.

Totally melodramatic and cheesy in places, but I LOVED IT! The best Nora Roberts I've read! Sometimes cheese and predictability is just what I need.
I adore Nora Robert's family books and this is an old favorite of mine, it was one of the first of her books I ever read and it was a nice and very light read.

The Stanislaskis have a special place in my heart, and I loved the book even more when I read it for the second time.

This one is one of my keepers and I usually tend to go back to this world whenever I feel down or am getting down for some R&R, it isn't very plot related and those of you who want big character development and action,

this is hands down my favorite series by roberts and I've lost count of how many times Ive read them all and they still manage to wrap me up in them every time. that being said this is probably my least fav in the series though I do still enjoy it. natasha has all this passion inside her that I feel is underutilized and her story is so tragic that I wish we got more of it sooner rather than a tidbit here and there them everything three fourths of the way through. I like spencer I don't love him ...more

WOW simply BEAUTIFUL, almost brought tears to my eyes. Pure love was there but so was fear right in between fear of having her heart broken, fears of losing what she most loved Natasha feared these things because she'd experienced them before and knew how much it hurt and she knew she that she didn't want to feel that pain ever again she knew she wouldn't bear it. Them Spencer and his daughter Freddie came along and though it was a slow and patient process though not TOO patient they changed thi ...more
Spence Kimball has moved to a smaller town to teach, anywhere is basically smaller than his former residence in New York. He's trying to create a more intimate life for himself and his young daughter, a chance for her to have more freedom and maybe grow up a little less sheltered. In the town there is a Toy Shop owned by Natasha Stanislaski. When they meet there's some confusion and attraction when Natasha mistakes Spence's sister for his wife and is annoyed when he chats her up. They have to ov ...more
It about tame a stubborn young girl, Natasha Stanislaski into another relationship. The challenge was held by Spence Kimball, a single father of Frederica. However, Natasha's plan to keep distance with two other people failed when Spence is her professor in college. Finally Natasha, the former ballet that was scarred by lost her baby and her past relationship trying tho accept that Spence is not like her ex-boyfriend.
Awww, I loved this.

I officially love Nora Roberts. She writes such wonderful characters that you fall completely in love with and you really want to see their happy ending. She also puts together great supporting characters and great situations that really suck you in - I just don't know how she does it, considering how prolific she is.

I can't give this 5 stars unfortunately because the love scenes were just a little cheesy for me, but I'm guessing that's because this is one of her earlier book
Liked this one. Its a quick read and Roberts always creates good characters. I wish I can swear in Russian. After reading Considering Kate, it was a little weird to go back in time, but still a good story.

Such an easy and good read. As always Nora Roberts aims to please!

If you are a hopeless romantic who loves to smile, laugh and enjoy a good N Roberts book you will love this one.

Taming Natasha

Another love story by Nora Roberts but this one has a different twist to it. I'm looking forward to the next book in this saga.

Good book

New Review June 28, 2014: Okay Okay, Okay. I'm bumming this one up to 4 stars, probably closer to 4 and 1/2 stars. I think this is my favorite book of the four siblings (Freddie and Nick's book wins for fav overall). It's just so light and happy and you get to see things from Freddie's POV which I adoreeeeee.

Review October 31 2012: Solid 3.5 stars. Really cute book. I love the introduction to the Stanislaskis, meeting them all for the first time is the best, especially seeing them from young Fre
I just fell in lobe with Natasha and Spence and of course little Freddie. Natasha is put off by Spence at the very beginning and slowly starts to have feelings for him but builds up these walls so hoping he won't break them down. He is pushy at first and can not understand why she won't return his feelings. He is a man who gets what he wants and he wants her, and secretly she wants him but won't admit it to him or herself.. it is a nice love story and Freddie who is just adorable and all she wan ...more
Got hooked on it from the very first page. Lovely work by Nora Roberts. love the entire series of Stanislaskis <3
This was my mistake. I thought books in the romance genre would be about romance. Instead it was a lust at first sight book.

I do not like dominating guys. This guy forces a kiss on her. What happened to gentlemen?

I also do not like wishy-washy characters...the one's who say they do not want the guy but fall helplessly into his arms when the guy forces a kiss on them.

If you like that sort of thing, Nora Roberts is a very descriptive writer. The scenes with the father getting his daughter ready
