Akira Tsubaki is a normal 17-year-old high school student. New student Mikoto Urabe appears to be anything but normal. Her bangs cover her eyes, she sleeps during lunch and class breaks, bursts out laughing in the middle of class for no apparent reason and carries scissors in her panties. All very odd and mysterious. One day, Tsubaki wakes Urabe up after school is over, and notices that she’s left a puddle of drool on her desk. Impulsively, he tastes it.

That night, Tsubaki has a dream set in a b

One day, Urabe Mikoto, a strange girl who always sleep during class, transfer to Tsubaki's class. In a dim sunset light afternoon,Tsubaki woke Urabe up after the class over but she still slept. After Urabe went back home, Tsubaki accidentally tasted Urabe's drool and he is addicted to it. After then, they are becoming a couple and more normal sweety stuff start from here.
This is a great comic that very suited with teenager age. Its art is great, simple with has a heavy message to the reader.

This is a strange premise, but I enjoyed the first volume of this series. There's a lot of drool in this narrative -- literally so -- and while I understand why Ueshiba is focusing his manga on a high-school population, there's something "curious" about his handling of young women. I'm not judging here. I'll probably go on to read the other volumes as they come out. We discussed this book on the May episode of our manga series: http://comicsalternative.com/manga-re....

Fun, flirty, and a little confusing, Mysterious Girlfriend X does a great job evoking that feeling of falling for the weird girl in your high school. With her Ally Sheedy in The Breakfast Club haircut covering her eyes, Mikoto is a cypher to her boyfriend, Akira, but that doesn't mean his feelings for her are any less real, and it's a heartwarming treat to watch their love grow. The character design is really cute and expressive, but the art never gets too gonzo (and, thankfully for a book ...more

This is the story of a boy who is addicted to the drool of the girl who sits next to him in class. Addicted as in, if he doesn't drink some of it every day he goes into withdrawal like a heroin addict who hasn't had a fix for a week.

Oh, and the girl keeps a pair of scissors in her panties and whips them out at the slightest provocation to defend herself.

Yeah, even by Japanese standards, this is pretty damned weird.

So the basic plot of this one is a high school couple bond over tasting each others drool. Yup, it's a manga all right, and despite sounding pervy it's a pretty good one. The art is solid and the artist portrays the relationship interestingly enough. Some of the chapters feel like "wheel spinning", but it was pleasing enough overall that I'll probably pick up vol 2.

incredibly weird and as such makes it far more interesting than the many piles of manga that deal with the same themes of the confusion of young love.

It's fun to see the characters secretly arousing each other with their spit. The sorry can be a little frustrating, but most of the time ends satisfying enough.

So. Freaking. Weird.

And what is with the art making all the characters look so freaking young? I always have to consciously think about the fact that they're high schoolers.
