Leif is a high powered Dallas defense attorney who is feeling a bit burned out. By the end of his latest case he's gotten the feeling his client isn't so innocent after all. When his fifteen year old daughter shows up on his doorstep wanting to get to know her grandfather, Leif's estranged father, he's not very happy about it. His relationship with her hasn't been great lately, so he'll suck it up for this chance to reconnect with her.

This was a heartwarming journey of how broken family ties can be mended if there is give and take on both sides. There was a lot going on in this one book, but the story flowed nicely.

Leif has had built up resentment towards his father R.J for many years. R.J divorced his wife, and walked out on his two sons when they were little. I enjoyed Unrepentant Cowboy. A Big "D" Dads: The Dalton's series. Leif Dalton is an attorney in Texas about an hours drive from his dad's ranch. In Wayne’s romantic intrigue novel, Dallas defense attorney Leif Dalton was born to defend children. When his teenage daughter wants to visit his father at the Dry Gulch Ranch, Leif reluctantly returns to the ranch. But when veterinarian Joni Griffin lands in a stalker’s path, staying close is his only option. With a serial killer in hot pursuit, Joni and Leif team together as the danger and passion flare.

Fast past in getting to know the Characters and heartwarming to see the plot of the story come to life with a powerful play on every word. I can't wait to read the next book.

I tried. I tried to enjoy it. I really did. But while the plot had promise and I wanted to read a western romance, the writing was clunky and difficult to get into.
