This book is a wonderful story about believing in Santa Claus. The two main characters in the story are Tommy O'Brien, a 12 year old middle school student who is no longer sure whether or not he believes in Santa Claus and Little Nick, an elf from the North Pole. Tommy experiences many of the typical middle school challenges including always looking over his shoulder to see where the school and neighborhood bully is so he can try to avoid him. Which he is usually not too successful at doing. ...more

Cried and laughed with this wonderful story of faith and believing in Santa, elves, children and adults. The best part was the author is a dear childhood friend. I saw so much of him in this book. A must read for children and adults.

“Nick began to plead with him. “You have a special power. You can stop time and change it. You can fix things so that she gets all the time she needs. You know you can do this…it’s just time.”

“It’s just time?” Santa said. “Time’s the most precious gift we have. We have it in such abundance we never even know how precious it is until it’s gone. When we do finally realize we have no more of it, we’ll do almost anything to get it back. Life’s made of moments, Little Nick. It’s just fragments of time, like specks of gold in their value. That, my young friend, is why each moment should be treasured for what it represents. Because they’re finite…and they’re fragile. The power to give more time is something far greater than anything I can do.”
