I remember paging through this book before buying it thinking, this is it! This is the kind of book I've been looking for ever since Prof Jonckheere taught me Literary Studies ... but then, you can only say so much about literary movements before you merely state what each author wrote about. So there certainly is an analysis of the literary movements seen over time, but as the book progresses a lot of the authors are merely mentioned along with their major works and what they are about.
