"Every time I saw her, I wanted to keep seeing her. I wanted to keep talking to her about anything and everything, wanted to reach out and touch her for any reason. Just the feel of her arm under my hand was enough to ease my craving for another day. But I wanted more. I needed more. I wanted her to feel the same way."--Forget Me Not, L.T. Smith

I honestly don't know how to do Forget Me Not justice. Not only is it so beautifully written and emotionally deep I struggle for words to capture it all

I just could not get used to the writing style of this author. This novella felt very choppy. No eye contact by the protagonist, less description of her or the nurse with whom she was enamoured. Ghosts or hallucinations, it really didn't matter because I didn't find a character I could relate to or feel compassion for. I don't want to downplay the effects Alzheimer's has on loved ones as I too had a father with Alzheimer's. The erratic behaviour of the daughter, the hallucinating mother, all ...more

What can I say? I don't think I can express how much this story made me feel. It is one emotional, sad, and lovely story with a bit of an eeriness about it. It hit me hard, it made me cry, and I know it will touch the hearts of all who read it. L.T. Smith wrote a much more personal story compared to her other wonderful books, and she gives you a glimpse of what it is like to slowly lose a loved one to Alzheimer's. You can feel the main character's pain, feel the sadness, the fear, the ...more

L.T. Smith is a late bloomer when it comes to writing and didn’t begin until 2005 with her first novel Hearts and Flowers Border (first published in 2006). She soon caught the bug and has written numerous tales, usually with a comical slant to reflect, as she calls it, ‘My warped view of the dramatic.’ Although she loves to write, L.T. loves to read, too — being an English teacher seems to demand ...more
