Read in September, 2008
recommended to Mindy by: Saw it on the "new" shelf at the library
recommends it for: everyone
Mostly, I found this book compelling and read it in just a few sittings (which for me in my crazy household is a big deal). The book is a compilation of editorials from Editors & Publishers and critiques the press coverage of the Iraq War. Reading press about the press from an insider was enlightening and I found his writing style to be engaging and entertaining, even while the subject matter was decidedly not.

Saw Greg Mtchell on Bill Moyers Journal and today he has an interview with Dan Rather on The Huffington Post who agrees that the MSM were complicit with the Bush Administration in not asking tough questions before the Iraq War -- not just asking the WH press secretary 'tough questions' but doing the hard reporters' job of going to other sources not committed to what the president's spokesmen were saying.
