Just finished this book. I can guarantee you that if you purchase it on Kindle, it will be the best 99 cents you have ever spent. My guess is that the book and DVD The Secret was based on this book. Every paragraph could stand alone as a famous quote. We would be a better country if every child would read this book and then discuss it in group discussions regarding what they took away from each chapter. If they follow the lead of the book they will become better people and who could be against ...more

Orison Swett Marden (1850-1924) was an American writer associated with the New Thought Movement. He also held a degree in medicine, and was a successful hotel owner.

Marden was born in Thornton Gore, New Hampshire to Lewis and Martha Marden. When he was three years old, his mother died at the age of 22, leaving Orison and his two sisters in the care of their father, a farmer, hunter, and trapper. W
