What a delightful little book. I bought it a long time ago and never get tired of rereading it. The black and white ink illustrations of the brownies and their sports are excellent. My favourite is the story about the brownies' friendly turn, in which they tried to help a good parson in a winter's night by collecting woods for him at night. But when the parson woke up in the morning, he found his house surrounded by piles of woods everywhere, back and front, right and left, till he could only se ...more
