I kind of understand why Ethel Turner was the more popular sister. The storyline is oddly paced and the ending is just terrible. I do love older children's books, and this nice old looking book will go nicely in my collection. Plus it's an Australian book, doesn't get much better than that!

Born in Lincoln, England, in 1867, Lilian Wattnall Burwell Turner was the daughter of commercial traveler Bennett George Burwell, and his wife, Sarah Jane Shaw. Her younger sister, Ethel Turner (born 1870), would also go on to become an author.
