'The boy who was me' is a very personal poetic journal dealing with surviving childhood sexual abuse. For me, the slightly chaotic way the poems have been mixed and presented here perfectly mirrors the inner turmoil of any person trying to make sense of, and come to terms with, what has happened to them.

In the title poem, The boy who was me is someone who "got lost in the night" and the reader can feel that child's pain, anger and confusion as the poem progresses.
