I read this for a course, so while I'm certainly the target audience I'm probably not the most forgiving of audiences. It's a detailed and comprehensive book, but quite dry. I appreciated when comparisons were made between Kahn and Corbusier, and altogether I would have liked more context for Kahn's work and ideas. As in Gargiani's book about Corbusier's concrete, every minute decision from the various worksites at the beginning of Kahn's career was relayed, but the significance of each of these ...more
