This book totally redeemed the whole series as far as I'm concerned. I liked Jacob, Gideon fell short, and Elijah annoyed me. Damien was the best so far, and it was fantastic!
Ruth is one of the best female villains I've seen in a long time, in fact I wish we saw more of her. She gets some action right at the beginning, and some later on in the book. She is one insane woman who has a brilliant mind...the makings of an excellent bad guy.

Another excellent book in the series!
Oh, how I am loving this series! The action, in or out of the bedroom, is incredible! You see the scenes as Frank wrote them, and they stick with you, long after the book is finished, LOL!
Damien is the perfect hero. Strong, he refuses to believe he’s sulking when he actually is and turns it into anger and a temper tantrum instead.
Syreena is stronger, physically and mentally, than most believed her to be. I loved how she grew even more, and how she came around...more

I loved it. It was everything I had expected. I really wanted to read Damien's story. What I like about this series is that I never know what will happen next. In most of the other paranormal series you just know how everything will end at the end but not in these books. I mean you know that they'll get together but not all the other events that will happen.
I really enjoy reading books written by Jacquelyn Frank.

I am not a romantic person, which is strange given that my main genre is romance, I don't like romantic films and I am not very big on PDA. Which, is probably why romances I love the most are series like Shelly Laurenston's Pride series and Immortals After Dark by Kresley Cole they all have the love stuff in, but they also have crazy females who are a little bit emotionally retarded and men whose main wooing technique is the basic shag-them-till-they-love-me, there aren't too many heart to heart...more

I thought this book was an excellent addition to the wonderful Nightwalkers series. However, I've heard some rumors that "Noah" will be the last book in the series (at least for awhile), and this one opened up so many routes for potential story lines that it will be interesting to see which ones the author fleshes out.

I don't get it. Honestly, I just don't get it. This book was Blah, blah, boring,long winded blah. The story has SO much detail and no substance. I honestly don't care about EVERY freaking touch, smell, sight and sound that EVERY character experiences. Oh and then switch to the next characters reactions to the SAME DAMN THING. This saddened me, I wanted so badly to like this book. I was looking forward to learning about Damien and the vampires, not to mention I assumed there would be some advance...more

When I read Jacob I though I had found a PNR series that I would really like. Unfortunately, Gideon wasn't up to par and left me cold. I skipped Elijha. Damien was probably slightly better, but I cant' say was as good as the first novel.
The series and the idea of it is interesting, but there's something missing in each of the books I read. (Mostly, I think, I missed the snarky humor of the first book and resent the mushy love the others have instead.)

I have tried repeatedly to enjoy the world of the Nightwalkers and every time, I scratch my head and go “huh?” Perhaps I am missing something but every one of Frank’s books are so long winded and go on and on without any major action. I also think part of my problem is the long paragraphs that don’t really make sense and the sex is pretty ho hum.

This book isn't fast paced, action packed or particularly dazzling yet it's thoroughly enjoyable. It's unhurried and nearly all about the building of the romantic relationship, mixed with another new character (Jasmine) and her platonic relationship with the hero. I'm on the fence about how I feel about Jasmine. She clearly will play a part later but I don't think I like her for Noah...if that's where this is headed. We'll see. No one is good enough for Noah though.

While I really enjoyed this one, it didn't grab me as some of the others have, which makes me sad. I liked what I saw of Damien in the other books and I was hoping for more with his book. That's not to say I don't like him now, because I do. I love him and I love Syreena. But their coming together/courtship if you will, fell short to me. This books flows a lot more quickly than the others in the series. Her previous books in this series have gotten on my nerves due to the constant retelling of previous events. One of the features I love best about Goodreads is the ease of which it is possible to follow a genre through its twists and turns to sub genres you never would have guessed existed. Eigentlich war mir Damien sogar sehr sympathisch, mit seinem Vertrauen daran, dass das, was er fühlt oder fühlen könnte, richtig ist. I found Jacquelyn Frank when I picked up her new SF Romance SEDUCE ME IN DREAMS, which led me to her other work. Since I haven't delved very deeply into paranormal romance, having read only some Laurel K. Hamilton and Kelly Armstrong, I decided to give Frank's Nightwalker series a try because I loved her characters and world building in DREAMS. Loving this book more the second time around!! Damien is one fiiiine vampire and Syreena really does complete him. She is the one that calms his restless soul and he gives her more personal courage. And what an interesting combination of shifting abilities Syreena has. Fascinating. This is by far, my favorite book in this series.
The best in the series, in my opinion. It was a little more isolated than the others; the two main characters are a shifter and a vampire, so it didn't take place all in the demon world like the others. In fact, a lot of the demons didn't really even make an appearance. (Some fans of the series may be disappointed by that, but I actually found it kind of refreshing.)

We run in small, independent packs, worry mostly about feeding, avoiding human hunters and - Damien gave Noah a feral grin - seeking out sensuality. If we cannot consume it, kill it, or party with it, it does not interest us.
When I read this line at the beginning of the book, I knew I was going to love Damien....then he bonded...and, of course, his character changed. As with Gideon, I love Damien's character enough that he saved this book from itself.

Frank has created a fantastic world here. I'm loving the whole combined dynamics. While each book is centered on an individual romance the series has progressing issues with the villain that started in the first book. Right along side that there are some growing and learning issues with all the nightwalker species as a whole.
