I really liked this one. It isn't just a story of revenge but of friendship. It shows how one guy can come between friends sometimes pretty easily. We want to have someone with us that makes us feel good and says all the right things.
Too often as girls we let our emotions get the better of us. It can really suck when something comes between friends. This story shows the consequences of that.

I first heard of the Good Girlz series when I read an entry on The Brown Bookshelf blog about African American Christian Fiction for teens. I ordered the series and got this volume first. (One of the rules of ordering series fiction for a library--the books rarely come in at the same time, and never in order.) Once it hit the shelf, it immediately got checked out and has hardly stayed on the shelf since.

This YA book was an excellant read. I would recommend it for all preteens/teens. Best friends, Camille, Alexis, Jasmine and Angel kept you on the edge of your seat wondering what their next move would be. This page turner showed that making decisions when your angry can quickly turn disastrous. I like how ReShonda Tate Billingsley shows that there are consequences for your actions.
One great thing about this book is that it's funny. The plot is based on revenge, a universal theme, but there was a lot of "God" this and "God" that, so it felt a little preachy. I'm certainly keeping it on my bookshelf in my classroom, and I will read another one in the series. But if I hear a preacher ringing in my ears again, it'll be over.
