Reading for our November book group meeting. This is a book I never would have picked up, as are many from our book group (which is one reason I love the group.) The author has chosen to look at some very difficult issues around war- war itself, involvement of women and all the implications, classism. Ms. Celbridge treats the three women well, honoring the one who chooses to remain anonymous and letting them reflect as well as act and react to the horrors of all the issues facing them.

I was glad I read this book for the insight it gave me into women and what they face in the armed services. It was a difficult book to stay focused on.
