"Under Gaslight" tells of one woman's battles within the War to End All Wars.
On her Northern England front, Mary's enemy is the unforgiving poverty that has whittled her family and all but broken her soul. As delineated with aching beauty by the poetic Michelle Wareham, this tale is told upon a stage where feudalism is fading and enlightenment is promised. Still that is of little comfort to Mary, who must look to the stars because the earth holds no hope.
