I just adore this book! ANYONE can learn to make fantastically designed cupcakes with store-bought items. While the authors rely heavily on plastic bags that are cut to shape for decorating, I defintely prefer my disposable frosting bags and metal tips. Store bought frosting is fine for decorating but, I think, too soft for much detail on the cupcakes and in the summer would wilt like President Bush up against the banking industry. Either make your own using Wilton's decorating recipe or buy...more

Such a fun book! Very creative ideas - wish I had it before my grandson's fourth birthday. Yes, it does use store-bought ingredients (no organic, p.c. baking here) - but it would be such fun to bring out some of these treats for your favorite kids' treats.

These cupcakes are absolutely darling. Yeah, I photocopied a few of them, but seriously doubt I"ll ever have the time or inclination to get so creative with my food.

I freaking LOVE this book. I bought it on a whim after looking through it in Barnes and Noble, and the ideas they have in here are ADORABLE. I haven't tried out any of the decorating ideas yet (though that will be happening in the extremely-near future), but I have tried some of the frosting techniques, and they're great. my mom, who was making cupcakes with me at the time, was even impressed and will be using them herself.

and I mean, come on. penguin cupcakes. who can resist that?

If you have kids or grandkids or know kids, this is such a fun book to have. With a picture for every cupcake "recipe", it's my idea of creative perfection. I can't wait to try the April Fool's ones, or the Christmas lights, Crazy Horses (for my horse-crazy girl), Garden Party, Family Tree, Pumpkin Patch - too many to choose from!

I am absolutely in love with this book!

I picked it up at my school's book fair and I can't wait to get home and start planning out some baking fun for this weekend.

Full instructions for tons of adorable cupcakes - from dogs, to sunflowers, to snowmen, to a giant birthday cake!

Jake is going to be so excited!

It's adorable, and would be perfect for kids. The focus is on making clever cupcakes that have non-cupcake shapes; the chapter of April Fool's Day cupcakes is particularly successful. It doesn't exactly fit my bill (I want to experiment with cupcake flavor rather than appearance) but is an excellent resource nonetheless.

AWESOME BOOK!!! Even if you haven't worked with decorating cupcakes with this book you can and it doesn't cost a lot to do so (the stuff in other books uses stuff like fondant which sometime can be expensive!) Well Just Get This Book!

OMG!! So call me Martha Stewart if you must, but I am going to dedicate the remainder of my winter to making these incredible cupcakes. You may laugh now, but you will love it when this crazy cupcake lady comes to YOUR next dinner party!

OK, I MUST own this book. As a cupcake freak I cannot get over the wonderfulness of these little cakes! So imaginative, and the authors promise that you need no special training or tools, just a few ziplock bags and some food coloring.

The photography in this book is fantastic. Makes you want to try to do all of these. And you might be able to... after taking a cake-decorating class. Several of the designs in this book used advanced decorating techniques.

Spent 10-15 minutes browsing this at Target. Very tempted to purchase! Can't wait to take a closer look!

*Update: Love this book! I am definitely going to add this to my collection! Even I, the baking challenged, can create some lovely treats using Hello, Cupcake! as a guide! Can't wait for Ava's next birthday.

This book has great photos and directions on how to make cute cupcakes of all varities. I made the pumpkin patch ones for Halloween. They didn't look quite as nice as the ones in the book, but people could tell the general idea. The only problem with this book is the pictures look so great, and the directions are so clear, that you feel like yours are bound to look exactly like the pictures in the book. But unless you are meticulous or have experience decorating, they're not going to be exactly ...more

Oh boy, does this book have some of the cutest cupcakes I have ever seen! Just look at the cover! And you know I am sucker for dogs of course, but there is sooooo many other great designs in this book and the ideas really are do-able and not overly complex or requiring special ingredients or tools. Pandas, Van Gogh's Starry Night, bowling pins and ball, nutcrackers...sooooo many great ideas.

The recipes for the cupcakes and frosting are not what you want this book for. But if you desi...more

Extremely creative, I've only tried one of the recipes, and the cake seemed a little dry to me, but this book is the best when it comes to fun decorating ideas. I love it!

I got this book as a gift, and I'm amazed at how clever it is. Some of the designs are really cheesy, but many are really cute and beautiful, and they're all fun.
