I Feel horrible but this ARC seemed to keep falling to the bottom of my on deck to read pile.

Jace's mom decides the Jace will marry his ex girlfriend who he dated one summer before he went to college. His Island Bride by Maxine Sullivan is a nice read if you are looking for a short romance, located along a beautiful beach, with a set of characters that are fun to to get to know. This is a marriage of convenience story, which is one of my favorite romance tropes.

Jace Jardine and his family own and manage an island resort that specializes in weddings and vow renewals. Most recently, bookings are down because many of their married couples are separating or getting a divorce. Word of mouth and th

Thanks, once more, to the publishers and NetGalley for letting me read this book in exchange for an honest review....

Desperate to save the family business, Wedding Belles Resort, Jace cedes to his Mum and brothers, agreeing to ask his childhood sweetheart, Brooke, to marry him in a marriage of convenience - even though they parted on less than amicable terms more than a decade ago when she was seventeen and he was nineteen. The aim of the marriage is to give the resort much needed positive publi

The story follows Jason "Jace" Jardine and Brooke Martin; Jace was Brooke's teenage love, who broke her heart beyond repair.

When Jace needs a wife to help save the family's wedding resort and who better to ask than Brooke, after all she works there as the wedding planner. Brooke does not want to marry Jace, but she also knows that the resort is one of the biggest providers for the island, so she bites the bullet; she just hopes she can keep the secret she's been carrying since Jace walked away f

I wasn't sure what to expect with His Island Bride by Maxine Sullivan, but I wasn't expecting to get hooked in and have trouble finding my way back up for air. Starting about chapter 2 I got hooked into Jace & Brooke's story. Jace has to marry to help save his family's resort, and who better for him to marry than the resort's wedding planner & his ex flame than Brooke. At first Brooke agrees to marry Jace, although reluctantly, because she doesn't want to lose her job or let the people ...more

FOUR outstanding stars for cuteness, different and intriguing storyline!

This is a story about getting a second chance at love. Brooke and Jace had a summer fling when they were teens. At the end of that summer he left for college and left Brooke devastated. She is the wedding planner for his family resort and it's in trouble. They agree to a marriage of convenience to help save it. It's a sweet love story about love, family and getting the second chance you didn't know you wanted. The only thing that bothered me was the ending was a little too quick. I would like to ...more

Started His Island Bride this afternoon and couldn't put it down. The sparks are flying between Jace and Brooke throughout the book. Jace does seem a bit like an jerk throughout some of the book, but he claims the intentions are good. Brooke definitely didn't take any crap from him, and it was great reading a lost love story where the girl isn't bending over backwards to try to get the guy back. The story overall was great, and had me in tears with all the tragedies that Brooke has had to deal ...more

She's the wedding planner at Wedding Belles Resort and as he returns to the island he finds the family business on the brink of bankruptcy. This is one of those books that once you start you can't stop reading!!!! Loved the island setting. The pool scene had me laughing out loud!!!

What was missing was a need for more of Jace's POV. I wanted to know what he was feeling throughout the entire book!!! Leading up to the wedding was too rushed as well.

And an epilogue!!! I want to know more:)

Although this is a small book, it is packed full. I was pulled into the story from the start, and didn't put it down until I finished the story. The characters were well-developed and you enjoy watching the relationship evolve. Although I needed a Kleenex in spots, this book is definitely worth the read!

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review via NETGALLEY.

This was such a sweet read about second chances. I actually couldn't put it down once I started. I liked Brooke and in some parts I though Jace was an ass, but he did change my mind at the end.

The only thing missing was an epilogue. I think it ended too abruptly.

"His Island Bride," by Maxine Sullivan doesn't have much to it. It's a short book-about 147 pages-with a plot that wasn't very interesting and no subplot. It's a nice little story without much substance.

A lovely romantic story told by an expert story teller. This is a lovers reunite and a marriage of convince story, two trophes that I enjoy together.
Well worth reading if you are a traditional romance reader.

I have to say that I pretty much blame my mother for all this. If my dear Mum wasn't an avid reader of romance, then I might not have fallen in love with romance novels myself. And then I wouldn't have decided to write my own romances. Thanks Mum!

Of course, I never thought it would take me 20 years before I saw my first piece de résistance in print. Perhaps I wouldn't even have tried, but you know
