Ce second tome révèle dans les détails la nature hautement politicienne (des deux côtés) des non-négociations de paix entre Havre et manticore, ainsi que leur tragique conclusion.
Là-dedans, Honor Harrington ne joue qu'un rôle secondaire, en fait, en étant exilée en Silésie (qui, pour ceux qui ne lisent pas ces pavés, est une espèce de zone de non-droit où plusieurs empires tentent de se faire de la place à coups de super-cuirassés.
