I loved the show! And I love this book! Hilarious funny.
I read some passages in my "American Accent Training"-exam at uni, and it worked. The teacher (comes from New York) loves Jerry and my reading, and I passed.
Here are three passages from the book:
The fact of life is that people will try and take your possessions. People are going to steal from you. Everybody has their own little personal security things. Things that they think will foil the crooks. You go to the beach, go...more

I got this book because I lived in asia during the whole Seinfeld boom and hardly ever saw it on TV. It seemed to have become part of the US culture that I completely missed. Who the heck is the Soup Nazi? People explained it to me and I was even more perplexed. I tried in vain to catch it in hotels and during trips to the states. But EVERY SINGLE time I made it a point to watch Seinfeld, it would ALWAYS be the same exact episode - the one where they lose the car in the parking garage. How...more

This is simply a collection of several bits from Jerry Seinfeld's comic notebook. Most fans of the TV show Seinfeld or of Seinfeld's stand up act will recognize these bits. That doesn't make them any less funny. This is one of the only books I have ever laughed at while reading it. In my mind, I could hear Jerry's voice saying these bits and it was like my own personal Jerry Seinfeld stand up act.

There was no funnier show than "Seinfeld" when the show finally found its rhythm and stride, but I've never thought Jerry's stand up material was all that original. Seeing it in writing only confirms that his strength isn't his material - these bits were covered more convincingly by Shandling and Reiser back in their hey-days.
I'll take "Seinfeld" seasons 4 & 5 over any of these predictable routines.

DO NOT READ THIS BOOK! Unless you have watched enough Seinfeld lately to properly duplicate Jerry's comedic timing as you read the book aloud. The common element of all of Jerry's jokes is that they are painfully unfunny...until you have Jerry telling them. So do yourself a favor. Binge on a few DVDs of Seinfeld and then read the book outloud in Jerry's voice. Then it will earn two more stars.

It's Seinfeld. It's laugh out lound funny, thought provoking comedy that you just can't get from any other comedian. Seinfeld holds a unique place in comedy as a comic who doesn't have to be outrageous in his attempts to make you laugh. He's conversational in tone and in fine form in this book, so if you're a fan and have never read this, i suggest you do so.

if you drive kids around and have to wait in the car alot, this is a great book to have. the chapters are short, and so funny! you will seriously laugh out loud and feel the need to tell everyone about what you just finished reading -- i'm just telling you (from experience), it won't be as funny.

This would have been funny if I hadn't been such a Seinfeld fan. Basically any alien would potentially enjoy this, but anyone who grew up in the 1990's/2000's probably will feel that it is a bit redundant. Also, the book is somewhat dated, so the material is a bit old.

I just don't get it. Not that funny to me at all. Didn't finish the book though so maybe the end gets funnier...Too many good books out there to be spending my time reading this. Sorry to all the Seinfeld fans out there.

Seinfeld-brand stand-up comedy in a book. Each bit is about half a page, more or less, which should make it good for bite-size reading. But it's easy to sit down and chuckle all the way through to the end, too.

I love Jerry Seinfeld and his observational humor. He will tell a funny story and I think, "that has happened to me too"! It's a funny read, maybe not his best, but definitely funny and worth a read.

Basically a collection of Seinfeld bits and writings. You've probably heard the majority of them, but there are some real gems in here that never made it onto the show. It's a super quick read.

When will I learn that reading a comedian's jokes is never as funny as hearing them performed. Even though I imagine their voice and timing, the written word really doesn't do his jokes justice.

This was a good book, but not great. It's basically just all of hisi stand up on paper. The reason i wasn't in love with it is probably becasue I've heard all of his stuff.

Very funny and easy read- I think I finished it in a day. His humor in the book mimics his stand up routine and television show...which is why it's so good.

Funny Jerry Seinfeld writes a book on some of his stand-up routines. If you watch his show, you have probably heard of most of his jokes in this book.

This book definitely had some moments that cracked me up....out loud. As far as I am concerned, any book that can do that is well worth my time!

Funny. Too bad I decided to read it after I Am America or it would be better. I needed something light and funny. This works. Quick read.

Jerry's always been my hero in the comedy world. I love him.
This book is a MUST read for aspiring comics. I know I am one.
