Stella is lost in the painting. She can smell the herbs in the bush, wild thyme and something sweeter. She is running down a steep path to a c

I've reviewed this book twice. Both times the review disappeared into the netherworlds of cyberspace, so I give up. I can't write a long one again. This book was lovely. That's all you need to know anyway. And it was written by a South African, which excites me. So yay!

But none of them can get away from the nightmares if their pasts – whether they play out during the early days of the ...more

A very enjoyable new book - which combines settings in Rwanda, South Africa, and Europe - from a prolific South African author. Worthy read, includes a few suspense tactics and a twist ending that is explained only just enough.

Interesting read for those with an interest in South Africa and a view on its history. The characters are believable and truly come to life.
