Lou ...more

Oh my goodness, the boy craziness/bad choices/giving girls a bad-stupid reputation for acting in a certain way is almost OVERWHELMING in this book!!!
Matti Karjalainen
Julien Neelin "Mimun maailmaa" on suomennettu toistaiseksi kolmen osan verran, joten teinitytön ja hänen kirjailija-äitinsä riemukkaaseen maailmaan halajavien on täytynyt sen jälkeen hakeutua vieraskielisten painosten pariin.

Sarjan neljännessä osassa "Lou! 4 : Romances" (Usharp Comics, 2011) viettävät Mimu ja hänen ystävänsä kesälomaa tyylikkäällä huvilalla siinä missä fantasiakirjailija-äiti tekee hivenen epäonnista promootiokiertuetta pitkin ja poikin maata. Mimun neljästoista syntymäpäivä läh

It's summer once again for Lou and co., as she heads off with her friends for her first summer away from her mother. The group is heading off to a beach house Mary Emily (the goth girl)'s mother has rented, where they hope to enjoy sun, surf... and the company of some cute boys.

But what will happen when the first boy she meets is none other than her former one-true-love Tristan, and Mary has set her sights on him?

Things get even more complicated when her Mom, off promoting her book over the sum
I still really liked this volume, but didn't feel as much for it as the first three.
I discovered these books through the Unshelved book club, and I'm so glad I did. It's difficult to describe what these are about, but I fell in love with the quirkiness of the characters from the second page of the first volume. I believe the 4th volume is the most recent one translated into English, and it's been the best so far. I rank this up with Scott Pilgrim for comics to break through to new audiences. I can't wait for the rest of the volumes to get English releases!
I think I like the young Lou better than the teenage Lou... But still cute!

In this volume of the Lou! graphic novels, Lou is invited on vacation with a group of her new friends. What else is there to do at a cottage on the beach but begin the boy hunt? To Lou's surprise, Tristan (the boy she had a crush on who moved away) is vacationing in the same spot. Is Lou really over him? This cute French import series is a great choice for tween girls and I'd recommend it to fans of Raina Telgemeier.
I love this series, it truly does capture the essence of a thirteen year old and how it is tough for them. I would recommend this book to any young teenager. Lou is a funny and inspiring character.
This fourth Lou! volume continues to grow and develop the story's complex, multi-dimensional characters through realistic situations with touch and humor. Excellently done.

Read the English version; very charming series ;I can easily see my tween relating to the issues that Lou and her friends go through.
Public library copy. My daughters love this series, it's really intended for young girls.
Lou a grandi, mais je retrouve bien l'humour du premier tome. 5 étoiles méritées... :)
Miksi oi miksi tätä huikean hyvää sarjakuvasarjaa ei enää suomenneta!?
Did not like this one as much as the other ones..
