This was a fascinating and amazing exhibition. Brilliant idea: The photographer took photos that had been taken immediately after the 1906 San Francisco great earthquake and fire, figured out precisely where they had been taken (no easy task given how much change there’s been in 100 years) and then took photographs from the exact same vantage point 100 years later in 2006. Having lived in San Francisco, I always like to peruse books of its history. And the one event that made San Francisco what it is today was the 1906 earthquake. Beautiful photographs of the the areas that were damaged compared to how they look today. A fascinating way to travel to the past and see how the city changed.
