This book brings light on just how tough the conditions are in one of the 5 major islands in Indonesia, Papua. The rough, difficult terrain coupled with unstable, highly traditional social dynamics makes it a challenge to all parties involved, be it government entities or locals.

The interesting thing about this book is that it covers 10 major incidents that happened during Insp. Gen. Tito's tenure as Papua's Chief of Police. It is not a "rainbow and ponies" book, it is an honest look on what is actually going on over there. Anyone in the state government, particularly those working in big, developed cities like Jakarta can learn a thing or two from this book.

Insp. Gen. Tito structured the book in a way that conveys the message clearly, often dividing incidents into:
- Context
- What was the police's actions
- Lessons learned

Simple and effective.

All in all, a great read to bring awareness that Papua Province needs a special attention from all elements of the state government, and all Indonesians in general.
