This is a nice gem of a book that is, unfortunately, long out of print. In it, Robert Gordis argues that faith is something which can still enhance our lives, even in a world in which rationalism and science seem to tell us all we need to know anymore about the world in which we live.

First written in 1960, and updated in 1971, Gordis's book is inextricably bound to both the shadow of the Holocaust and the ongoing terror of Soviet communism and nuclear brinkmanship. While the book is in some ways
