There are a few authors who have done an excellent job in putting "time off" into a step-by-step action plan. Clements and Gignac fall into this category. While their way of detailed planning might not be for everyone, if you like some hand-holding, this book is for you. Escape 101 deals with mental roadblocks you face, be it financial or family/children, and how to overcome them. The book also talks at length about the benefits of taking time off and what it takes to make this period of your li ...more

Nice for a little inspiration. Just ok for practical advice. Some of the advice seems a bit obvious: like calculate your expenses, then divide it by the number of months until your sabbatical to start saving. It is encouraging for setting the right priorities and helpful.
