This manga is one of the most interesting and unpredictable series I have ever read. I cannot find words to describe how good this series is. Once again, CLAMP has created a wonderful series that is just beautiful and just a lot of fun to love. XXXHolic is very unique and has an excellent character cast. I’ll admit that I think that this manga may be one of CLAMP’s finest. Maybe not the best but one of the better ones.

The thing that stands out about Holic is the setting. It’s a paranormal unive

Very fun read. Sometimes CLAMP's character are criticized for the exaggerated length of their limbs, but I like it; Yuko is probably my most favorite manga character in terms of appearance, and one of my top favorite female characters, overall.

This volume included on the most cautionary tales thus far: be careful what you wish for and, above all, don't think you're above everything because that will cause your downfall.

The monkey's Paw story really brought it home for me in this volume. Probbaly my second favorite volume in volumes 1-6.

This was a crazy volume. I definitely call this one a gasp inducer though to me the second story with the antique collector girl was the most terrifying. I like how with this series so far how it's set in a fantasy setting but there's a lot you can learn from it's various little lessons. Definitely leaves you thinking.

Today's post is on XXXHolic volume 3 by CLAMP. It is the third in the series, so you need to have read the first two to understand the story. It is 176 pages long and is published by DEL REY. The cover has Yuko on it looking very pretty and wrapping around to Watanuki on the back. The intended reader is someone who likes Japanese mythology, ghost stories, and very pretty pictures. The story is told from Watanuki's perspective. There Be Spoilers Ahead.

Yay this volume was an improvement over the last one, and that makes me happy!

What I'm finding I really love about this series is even though it's fantasy, there is so much reality in it! And I mean that in the messages the storylines are putting across. It started with the first volume when Yuko-san was talking to the woman about quitting the internet. I loved what Yuko-san had to say about it all - about how an individual has to make the choice for themselves or else they won't be able to go t

XxxHolic Volume 3 by the CLAMP mangaka group has two main stories and a brief after story that will become an important detail in later volumes. The two main ghost stories are both set in schools and rely on the inborn stubbornness of people. There is also a recurring theme of things not being what they seem.

In the first story, Watanuki and Dômeki are sent by Yuko to check out a reported haunting at a high school. Himawari has heard of the school's ouija game getting out of hand and causing trou

Synopsis: xxxHolic by Clamp follows Watanuki, an orphan who is plagued by spirits. While being chased by spirits, Watanuki runs into a strange shop and meets a strange woman named Yūko. She turns out to be a powerful witch, and makes a deal with Watanuki to help him remove his "curse" in exchange for working in her shop and cooking for her. Hijinks and adventure ensue.

I can't remember now why I picked up the first volume of xxxHolic, but I'm glad I did. The series starts off in

XXXHolIC volume 3
I can say that I really enjoyed this volume, loved all the diffret stories in it but I kind of don't understand the mixture between the comedy in this series and the dark stories that happens to some of the characters, which I like because it makes it unique but it's also confusing.
And I really got to say the shouting and the ranting of the guy (yukamari I think that's his name) is really annoying and MUCH MUCH MUCH worse than Usagi Chan in Sailor Moon (she's a girl it's very

A good volume. :3 Doumeki starts coming in to things here and since I'm a serious Doumeki/Watanuki fan, that makes me feel just peachy. Doumeki is always saving Watanuki. They're so funny together. I just love them.
There's a Chobits reference and Clow is mentioned again as well as the trans-dimensioners being helped out again. (I'm getting the feeling, they pop up regularly throughout the manga unlike the anime.)

CLAMP, xxxHolic vol. 3 (Del Rey, 2004)

Now things are starting to shift into gear. We've got a better idea of where the characters are positioned on this particular gameboard, how the story's going to tie into Tsubasa, and a bunch more. There's still that tone thing I can't quite wrap my head around, and since I'm reading it in tandem with Love Hina (which is superior), I can't help comparing the two, but it's still fun. ***

Gods. There are many known in Japan. Back then people think they bring great fortune into their lives, while other think if they anger them all of their crops will die out. There are even gods who offer sacrifices to pleased or else bad things will happen. Sure, but now people just think them as myths. But when strange occurs start to happen in Watanuki's school, he'll see that this is no God you should mess with.

I actually read the Ultimate version of this book (the huge one with all 3 of the first copies all mashed into one, huge, fantastical one).

Nonetheless it was awesome. I get way too into my manga, and this is definitely one that made me laugh out loud (in other words, you'll probably smile when you read this one. Perhaps utter a chuckle).

I've begun to watch the anime as well. It's fun to compare ^-^

xxxHOLiC was pretty unique and cool. My problems with it are all the crossovers into other CLAMP manga, and I don't want to have to read every other manga they have made. The references are mostly well explained.
And then there is also the issue of plot. I can't tell if there is an actual plot, or if it is just Yuko and Watanuki running around granting wishes.
As I said, it is unique and cool, and really well drawn.

Siguen habiendo casitos, casos y casotes.

I finally figured out the title! xxxHolic means that it's about people with different addictions or 'holics'! I am so smart. Anyway, this series is getting better though it doesn't cross with Tsubasa as much as I thought. THey seem to cut a majority of Yuko's meetings out. BUt then again, I guess Watanuki doesn't exactly see that most of the time.

Happy reading!

I'm enjoying the creepier turn this volume took. It deals with evil spirits inhabiting a school as well as a story about a monkey paw, and anyone who has read or watched any version of that tale can tell you it's always going to end badly. I really enjoyed it!

Reread 2011. Watanuki and Dômeki exorcise a Ouija board, which is pretty good; CLAMP retells "The Monkey's Paw," which is eh; Watanuki meets a fox cub whose father sells oden, which is adorable.

This is one of the weaker books in the series, it seems like very little happens.

And what did happen was stuff I had already seen in the anime, so it wasn't keeping my interest very well at the time. A fun series none the less.

OMG! The monkey hand was soooo creepy!
But the foxes were adorable! Especially the little one when it was given the arrow feather!
