This is an excellent book for anyone who wished to learn to draw. In fact, the only real gripe I have with it is that very little time was devoted to the mechanics of making marks on the paper. Only vague description is used to describe the techniques of using charcoal, pencils, and the like.

However, the book does spend a great deal of time on how to approach one's subject. Composition, tone, proportion, perspective, line-drawing, etc, are all covered.
