"The senses ……….. The fighting skills …………The acrobatics ……….they are just tools ………..But the man ………… he had to be inspired "

To be clear , I am not nostalgic . I haven't been introduced to the daredevil books until the last 2 year or so . Hell , if i had any shred of nostalgia , i would say i had it for the 2003 movie .

That being said ,I found it scary to jump to the old school comics , and witness the awkwardness and dullness of the super hero genre , that might only appeal for a younger me if...more

This series was inspired by Stan Lee watching a blind man walk down the street without a stick, dog or helper. Stan Lee was so impressed that this man had lost the most important bodily function for independence, but he remained so strong and dignified.

To me, Daredevil is about potential, inner strength and the willpower to overcome all odds. Daredevil lost his sight and has had terrible things happen to him, but he still puts all of his energy into making the world a better place. We aren't al...more

There is nothing like firs reading these works. They were then a heady brew that included sex, violence, and gore on a level that no other comic could touch. And it just kept coming. Miller was liberated by the fact that Daredevil wasn't a big seller, sadly when he got going it did, and this brought the suits out with their ideas of why DD was popular. These stories are so great that it was here the movie makers came to to do their story. The movie was literally highlights from these incredible...more

This omnibus collects the first few issues Frank Miller did for Daredevil. I really liked Daredevil as a kid, though I really didn't get to read a whole lot, so I thought this would be a fun read. I wasn't disappointed.

Frank Miller picked up Daredevil in the final issue of an existing storyline so there are a ton of supporting characters and plot points that aren't really given any introduction (understandably). This is all a bit confusing at times but with just a little bit of background knowl...more

Frank Millers run on daredevil is simply amazing. I started reading from issue 168 I think its where miller got to write the story. this is the second book I've read for miller so far after "the dark knight returns" and I never thought I would say this but damn I am surprised .. I liked this one more. at first my thoughts were how the book was really outdated. the art, story. however later BANG! the kingpin, bullseye, electra! the story got dark and the atmosphere and the art were growing on me....more

Frank Miller has become one of the foremost figures in the comic industry, and after reading his collected work from his historical run on "Daredevil", it's easy to see why. The pulp style of writing in the early stories harkens back to the original 'Batman' stories, but Miller soon hits his stride, blending hard-knocks dialogue and action with deep characterizations. Each story is better than the last, from the return of the Kingpin, to some of the classic battles with arch-enemy Bullseye, as w...more

Daredevil was on the verge of being cancel due to low sales, until they gave Frank Miller the character, and everything changed. This omnibus explains why Frank Miller is a legend. This has everything that defined Daredevil for pretty much for a long time. So many great moments, great characters, and shocking turns of events.Regardless of what you have to say, all writers are just continuing Frank Miller's Daredevil. The artwork (The first issue was the strongest issue for art)was good, and conti...more

Going for as much as £350 on amazon marketplace. But I got this hefty tome for £18 in the clearance shelf at a local Waterstones! Result!

This is pre-"Dark Knight Returns" and pre-"Sin City" and he takes Daredevil from ho-hum hero to a character that you can't stop reading. His run on this book was fantastic. Elektra, The Hand, Stick, Bullseye, etc.. I'm pretty sure he started them and if not, he made them what they are.

Great art and half the stories are pretty cool, just expected more from Miller

This was probably my 3rd go round with this material, and it's still a damned fine read. Miller and Janson are locked in to Daredevil, and the quality puts many books published today to shame.

Every so often I have to go back and read Frank Millers DD run. It reminds me to keep reading comics, if I have forgotten.
