Paige Toon
If your boss was the hottest rock star on the planet, would you mix business with pleasure?
I'm Meg Stiles. This is my leaving party. And that song we're making a mockery of? That's written by one of the biggest rock stars in the world. And I'm moving in with him tomorrow.

After reading a review of Paige’s first novel, Lucy in the Sky, in Heat magazine I thought it sounded great so got hold of a copy and absolutely loved it so I couldn’t wait when I read about Paige’s second novel and I wasn’t disappointed…
Meg is off to Los Angeles to be CPA (Celebrity PA) to Johnny Jefferson, the hottest rockstar on the planet. She tells herself she will not fall for him but ultimately does. We follow her as she tries to figure out her feelings for Johnny and we constantly wonder...more

So I'm in the mood for an Adult Contemp and came across this. I wasn't going to pick this up considering it's $10 on Amazon, but it had the trifecta that I can't say "no"to: British, tattooed, Rock God. **slaps hand on forhead**Groans... I have issues. Hope this is good...

Johnny Be Good es una historia divertida, atrapante y algo especial.

I'm such a sucker for stories like this. I'm sure that's pretty obvious now seeing as about half the books I've written about on here are about Movie Stars/Rock Stars. I just can't help it! Johnny Be Good is really no different from any celebrity centered books out there. The titular Johnny is your stereotypical Rock Star. He is the walking embodiment of the Rock and Roll lifestyle. He is constantly drinking, doing drugs and sleeping around with random women. He is also incredibly, drop dead gor...more
Really good book, I could hardly put it down!
Made life with a rock star (even though that's just pure fantasy) seem very real. She didn't gloss over the more unsavory parts of Johnny's life style (ex. detoxing, alcoholism, groupies, etc).
I felt a great deal of compassion for Meg. Although the logical side of my brain kept screaming, "GAH! RED FLAG! RED FLAG!" whenever Johnny would act like an asshole and purposely hurt Meg, take drugs, get piss-tank drunk, etc... my heart would remind me of wha...more

I wish I could take back the £6 I paid for this rubbish, or else the precious time I wasted!
This book...how to review it? Well, for one: It was just plain stupid.
Character:
Meg - shallow, whiny, needy, naive, pathetic and absolutly unrelatable in every way.
Christian - 2d, unrealistic and his actions just never seemed to be justified (if that makes sense)
Johnny - what a prat, sterotypical rocker, pretty much a 2d caricature. What was there even to like about him?

This is the second book I have read by Paige Toon, the first being Lucy In The Sky.
Johnny Be Good, is the story of Meg Stiles, a PA from England. She has been given the dream job of being PA to rock god, Johnny Jefferson, in LA. Amidst all the glamorous parties and showbiz names, Meg's new life is not as great as it seems.
And then, Christian, Johnny's long standing friend from Newcastle, comes into Meg's life and everything changes.

Paige Toon is a recently new author to me. I came across one of her books Chasing Daisy last week which I thoroughly enjoyed so when I stumbled across Johnny Be Good by Paige Toon I could walk past it. I started this book last night in bed and finished it off today whilst I was in hospital having my treatment. It was that good that a few times the nurses spoke to me and I was so engrossed I didn't answer! This is Paige Toon's second book.

Fortsetzung?
I have recently started browsing reviews of my fellow-readers, whose opinions of books are similar to mine. This is how I found this book and I am really pleased that I did. Fortunately, the sequel has already been published, so although I generally hate cliffhanger endings, in this case it can be forgiven. I have just started read the second book, Baby Be Mine.

REVIEW WITH SOME SPOILERS
Johnny Be Good was surprisingly good despite it not being the typical celebrity romance novel that I'm used to reading. You know, the one where the regular girl falls in love with the super famous guy and vice-versa and all they have to contend with are the tabloids and other women trying to steal the guy.
Meg, our protagonist, does fall in love with rock God, Johnny Jefferson (her boss, btw), but their romance is no fairy tale. I think it's pretty realistic because John...more

Hm...it was a pretty good book, though I hate the characters so much! *gasps* (WHAT??) Well, except for Christian. And I'm pretty sure he's the one who's gonna end up getting hurt. Poor Christian. And as for Johnny, he's just too f**ked-up and I hated him most of the time. I mean, seriously, Johnny. Do you love her or not? Do you wanna be with her, or not? I mean...I get when the hero gets all feeling insecure and starts to push people he starts to care about away by trying, or in this book's ca...more
This book was an unusual read for me purely because I read its sequel first (I know, shock horror!), I bought Baby Be Mine without knowing it was a sequel and I just couldn’t wait to read it because I love Paige Toon books so much. Seeing as I had already read the sequel I obviously knew what the outcome of this book would be and I was curious to see if it would affect my enjoyment in any way…

I bought this book as a joke, since I know someone with the name Johnny and found the title and concept hilarious. And it was on sale.
I read the reviews later on and was pretty excited about all the good reviews it got, my friend read it before me and she really loved it. So i couldn't wait to start.

I had bought my mother this book for Mother's Day last March after we had both enjoyed Paige Toon's 'Lucy in the Sky' so much. I've only now just got round to reading it when I stayed at my Mum's house for 5 nights.
I ACTUALLY pulled the most over the top shocked face at the ending because I HONESTLY didn't see that coming. I spent the majority of the book thinking 'yeah, I SO know how this is going to end' and although one of my predictions came true... I still didn't foresee that little twist =...more

I must say that being only eighteen, I am a huge fan of Paige Toons work and I constantly look for updates on her newest releases, even though they only come out on an annual basis. Jonny be good, is the best book that I have ever had the pleasure to read. I came across it in the WHSMITHS top 40 bestsellers chart - which ii tend not to use as direction when buying books. However, for this book I am eternally greatful as it made me feel, happy, sad, angry and curious as to what was coming next. E...more
While I was in the library to pick up a book I took a reservation on, I saw this book on the table with books. The front got my attention and so did the words on the back, that is why I took it home with me.
First I read the other book, but when I started reading this one, I couldn’t stop reading. It is an easy to read book and the story goes a different direction all the time, but it is still logical to go that way. It gives a nice look in the life of a pop star.

Well I have read some of Paige Toons books and I have really enjoyed them. However with this book it was different because there were times during this book that I just wanted Meg to open her eyes which was frustrating at times but aside from that what I loved about this book (along with Paige Toon's other books) is that she manages to create believable and strong characters who you really grow to like during the course of the book. Not only that but Paige is capable of creating a great plot that...more

I have a problem when it comes to reading my words get all muddled up and I get though 1 chapter and i think to myself this is to confusing i cant read any more!

No sé cuantas estrellas darle.
Wow. Wow. I've not been able to put this down, I've been so gripped. I loved it. The story was fantastic, the characters were great and there were times when it was genuinely unpredictable!
When we start Meg Stiles has just got a job working for the baddest boy in rock Johnny Jefferson. As I've mentioned before in some stories the main male character was meant to have a bad boy reputation and never lived up to it, however this one certainly did. He frustrated me constantly but I just couldn't no...more

Paige Toon is a great author. I've read her other books and absolutely fell in love with the characters and the scenarios. This was NOT the case, however, for Johnny Be Good. Spoilers below!!
Meg. What a weak, stupid, stupid, cruel, stupid, jerk of a character you are! Don't people ever learn? She actually allowed herself to be completely used by Johnny, on multiple occasions, and had a hard time stopping her obsession with him. I think it was supposed to i...more

I loved this book so much! Funnily enough I'd actually read Baby be Mine first by accident!! I only found out when I'd nearly finished reading Baby be Mine that Johnny be Good is the first book. I didn't think it was a big deal reading Baby be Mine first, I mean obviously yes, your suppose to read number 1 and then number 2 but I like the way I had read it because it helped me appreciate what Johnny had become since the first book.

I read Chasing Daisy and really liked it, so I decided to read another of Paige Toon's and found this one. It was an easy read, quite a typical chick lit, an innocent female and a suave male character, but somehow this just didn't quite work for me. Too much was being written about how good looking Johnny is and how much Meg wanted him. The ending was anti-climax for me, in the end I don't really care for the outcome. I love chicklits because they can make me laugh, warm my heart, and even bring...more
