This novella was a suspenseful tale of a man with a truly unique job. In the future, global transportation has moved deep underground. The only problem is that someone needs to be close to the system at all times. So the spheres were created. Self-contained work and living quarters for a single individual that allows the transportation system to be constantly monitored. The engineer will stay there for eighteen months. But what happens when strange things start to occur?
