Opening Line"Tracer rounds zipped across the murky darkness, lighting up the night sky in brilliant slashes of red, yellow and green."

WOW this one's a keeper. I absolutely loved this book it's got everything you could possibly want in a romantic suspense; uber alpha-male hero, exotic locations, suspense, drama, explosions, gunfights, hot sweaty jungles, passionate love scenes, psychotic villains, movie-worthy action scenes and some of the most touching dialogue I've read. (gotta love those tortu More...

Hmmnn...how to begin? How about "I loved it!" This was a taut, action-packed read, with a hero and heroine I really liked.

We first met the H/H in a previous book called "Into The Dark". Although this book is technically the start of a new series (Black Ops series), do yourself a favor and make sure you read "Into the Dark" first, you'll understand the characters a whole lot more. I had read "Into the Dark", but it's been about a year, and I've read a lot of books since, so my memories were a lit More...

^^MERCY IS FOR PUSSIES!^^

So I am gonna do this a little differently, keeping it fresh and hot. So this is the first book in the Black Ops series, no its not about black operatives and yes the men are sexy. These guys infiltrate a situation and take out the bad guys and they do it in style. I am talking guns a blazing, knives a stabbing and smack talking. Yes! These guys got balls.

THE RUNDOWN- Its been a few months since Jenna McMillan was rescued from a nasty situation down in Argentina, this w More...

It's not you, Gerard. It's me. Kind of...

I'm just so used to my heroes being able fly/regenerate their health/drink blood/turn into a wolf/read minds/move at impossible speeds.

I just guess a super commando butch dude with no super powers or abilities couldn't keep up with those kind of expectations. And to be honest, who could?

But something did get at me about Show No Mercy though.

You see, my Babcia (Pronounced: Bub-shia) and dziedek (Pronounced Jad-eck) watch those Danielle Steele movies that c More...

I'll start on a positive note because I was raised to have one of those "the glass is half-full" outlooks on life...

What I liked about this book:
1. The secondary romance. I can't give their names away because it doesn't start until half-way through the book and I don't want to mark this review as spoilery. I REALLY liked the secondary romance - it was believable between two warm, caring people. (I should note at this point that the secondary romance is the only reason this book received three s More...

WARNING This review contains fury eruption, malice effusion and offensive language.

The world, the heaven and gods don’t know what justice is. Why is that? Because a decent, good, strong and courageous man named Gabriel Jones ended up with moronic, hysterical, stupid and infuriating woman named Jenna McMillan.

Do you regard this situation as a normal one?

– Jenna, I want you to meet my friend, Gabriel.
– Hello, Gabriel! Nice to meet you. I heard you had lost you fiancée tow years ago. Do you want to

Exciting storyline with lots of action and suspense, awesome romantic tension between the lead couple and some great steamy scenes to boot! Loved Gabe and Jenna, who we first met in Into the Dark, a book i would highly recommend reading before starting this series.

Thoroughly enjoyed all the secondary characters, definitely looking forward to getting all their stories and i also really enjoyed the side story featuring Nate Black and Juliana Flores, although there was never any completion or clos More...

In the first book of Gerard’s Black Ops, Inc series, we see Gabe “Archangel” Jones and Jenna McMillan again. For those of you who follow Gerard’s Bodyguard series, you’ll be happy to note that this book starts off with a fantastic beginning that hooks you right until the end.

SHOW NO MERCY is a show-stopper, the kind of book where once you start, you won’t be able to stop. I made the mistake of trying to sneak a few pages in before bed and ended up staying up the entire More...

Thought this took awhile to get going, but once it did it became fast paced and hard to put down. I enjoyed reading about the secondary relationship that developed and would liked to have read more of their story than was in this book. Maybe they will still get their own story...

I think it needs to be said: This is a spin off from this author's Bodyguard Series AND the plot of this one is directly from the last book in that series. But, in order to understand that last book you need to have read More...

DNF. Don't worry, I didn't get far enough into the book to be able to give spoilers...

Even though this book is on my 'hated the heroine' shelf, I didn't exactly hate her. I just couldn't stand the whole "I dunno why he hates me" inner monologue after the 4th go round. Just f*cking ask him already! And, while I understand this is probably how reporters think, the paragraphs upon paragraphs of her just... asking herself questions, wondering about things, mulling stuff over, etc. Holy crap, I was j More...

I read this after a whole men in uniform kick....Im blooming glad I did. Gabe is an ex-special forces man who now works with a gang of elite blokes who do dirty work for the US Government off the record. Jenna is a international war reporter who just happens to have annoyed a very nasty man! The pace of this book is brilliant and I couldnt put it down. It is your typical romance in the fact that 60% of the plot is definately the romance and there is blatently a HEA on the cards but thats where t More...

After a horrifying experience in Argentina, Jenna McMillan is determined to get right back into that saddle. She's been hiding out at her parent's home trying to recover and after a few days of soul searching, accepts a job to return to Argentina, face her fears and hopefully run into Gabe Jones. He helped save her from the hellhole she was in and before he sent her on her way home, he left her with the memory of the most fantastic kiss of her life. She's about to meet her contact in Buenos Aire More...

I noticed that this book is listed in listopia in "I Love a Man In Uniform" ... in a category of "military romance." I had no idea that this sub-division even existed, but this book indeed fits the bill. It is the perfect quick read filled with action, angst and romance. The chemistry between our two lead characters is sizzling - dark, stoic, wounded hero, Gabriel Jones clashes with bright, “sassy” (as she is described several times in the book), outspoken journalist heroine, Jenna McMillan. DNF.

Ok, ok! Before you start asking me "What the ..." or " Why you DNF this, is the story bad?" or maybe throw me with something, I'll explain..

For me, when I can't finish reading a book, there must be a reason. The reason for this book is, I'm soo.. confused when read it, because the hero and teroine had meet before and they have history too. Then to much thing that I don't know, and I feel like I missed something...

Then I realized that Black Ops is continuing Bodyguard series (same author).. I More...

I enjoyed the story very much. Until the end. Yes, the wonderful happy ending. BUT there was a lot missing. He had issues. She had issues that really werent dealt with. He just showed up, having figured it all out. Which leads to the happy ending. But as I said, a lot missing. How did he get there? What brought that life change on? A great thing about this story is the surprises. I wont spoil anything. But stuff happened that "never" happens in love stories. And this is a love story. Its also a More...

Loved this book! I loved the sparks that Jenna and Gabe put off. The book started off a little slow, but once it picked up it took off like a rocket. Some of the situations that were encountered in the end felt more real to what a man of military background might encounter. I thought that it was handled rather well. Looking forward to the next one in the series.

This was mostly an enjoyable book.

It's set in Argentina, which is described beautifully and accurately, which of course tickled me (I'm Argentinian), and Gabriel is a hero to die for. I loved how he and Jenna fought all the time-- their mutual irritation with each other was not over right away, as it usually is in those types of books.

Jenna was likable, the pace was fast and exciting. Juliana is by far my favorite character in the series, and the secondary romance is lovely.

But.

Although I felt a bit disconnected with the main MC's, but I have to say that Cindy Gerard wrote romance-suspense better than Maya Bank did with her KGI series. Her action felt more thrilling with all that explosions, gun fire and a psychotic villain. While her romance was far from cheesy and corny kinda of it, instead she gave you a realistic ending to it. Still, there's hot love making, don't worry, in case you ask ^^

Here's why I felt a bit disconnected with the MC's. I felt like Gabe & Je More...

It took me such a long time to read this book. I don't know. It has the elements, but somehow the story doesn't really get into my skin.

I find the female protagonist quite annoying. Don't know why. And the translation is a bit... perhaps it lessens my enjoyment in reading this book.

"(Nama karakter) adalah sesuatu" muncul dua kali, dan rasanya tidak pantas saja. Mungkin sebaiknya diganti Gabe/Jenna luar biasa, mengagumkan, menakjubkan, apalah? Lalu penggunakan kata "subtil" yang menurutku merusa More...

Inc se More...

First in the Black Ops, Inc romantic suspense series featuring the BOIs of Black Ops, Incorporated, a private security firm started when a spec ops team got fed up with armchair generals and power-hungry politicians dictating their tactics. The primary couple focus is on Gabe Jones and Jenna McMillan with a secondary focus on Captain Nathan Black and Dr. Juliana Flores.

An opponent of the original Task Force team had referred to Black's men as Black's Obnoxious Idiots. The name stuck, bonding the More...

Review: Show No Mercy is an action packed novel full of danger and suspense that will keep the reader on the edge of their seat from the first page to the last page. Gabe Jones is a special operative for Black Ops, Inc and thrives on the danger that comes with the job. He first meets Jenna during a mission in Argentina nine months ago. They shared a kiss and said goodbye, but neither have been able to forget that kiss. When Jenna returns to Argentina to cover a story, all hell breaks loose and G More...

I stumbled upon Cindy Gerard by accident in a used book store and picked up "To The Brink" (Ethan's story). One of the best purchases I've ever made. After reading that, Ms. Gerard quickly catapulted to the top of my must read list. After wrapping up her bodyguard series with "Over The Line," she started the Black Ops Inc., series with Gabe and Jenna in "Show No Mercy."

Although I've yet to read the two latest in the series (Raphael story and Wyatt's story), I feel comfortable in saying that "Sho More...
