Ann Rule is a terrific crime author. She lays out the whole story and rarely allows her own opinions regarding the case to filter into the pages of the book. She simply lays out the facts and allows the reader to come to their own conclusions.

I read Ann Rule's latest offering within a few days, it is that riveting, and heartbreaking. Ann Rule, who has given us past works of true crime, does an amazing job of piecing together the story of two women who were killed in cold blood for being involved with a man who could not bear losing them. What is even more amazing is that the two women died fourteen years apart - the first, dental student Dolly Hearn was found shot to death and her death was ruled as a suicide, and the second, Jennife...more

If you like shows like 48 Hours, Dateline, 20/20, shows that go into detail about true crime, you will love Ann Rule books.
You get to know each character and their past so you feel the emotion asscociated with victim, and the killers. Too Late to Say Goodbye is the true story of dentist Bart Corbin and the murder of his wife Jennifer Barber Corbin and previous girlfriend, Dolly Hearn. To go inside the life of a killer is both facinating and disturbing. This book will be hard to put down...more

This is another great Ann Rule true crime book. This book is riveting. It is very well written. The author does a wonderful job of making the reader really understand the victim's life and what she was really like before her awful murder. Ann Rule put a lot of research into this book to portray the life of the victim and murderer and it shows in the story. My favorite thing about this book is the fact that the life of the victim is covered and not so much of the courtroom drama that we see ...more

Another good read by Ann Rule, I admit it took me a bit to get into it but once I was it was a good quick read.
My heart ached for Jenn Corbin's family, especially her sons. I don't think I will ever forget them after reading this story and pray that they are able to move beyond what happened to their mother.
There was absolutely nothing redeeming about Bart Corbin, Ann's description of him was great and seemed highly accurate after reading some more information about this case online.

Exciting read. Kept me on the edge of my seat. I started it one night and finished the next afternoon, it kept me up half the night.
It is true crime which makes the story even more fascinating in my eyes. If you like mysteries, you would probably like this book.
My only complaint is that the author spends a lot (too much) time giving the history of past generations of the families of the main characters. I don't care how the victims parents met and got engaged, etc.

This is the first Ann Rule true crime book I have ever read. It leaves me wondering why I waited so long.
This is the story of a "typical" family in Gwinnett county Georgia who seem like they have it all. When the wife winds up dead by gunshot wound to the head, family secrets and troubles lead to the unearthing of more than a crime of passion.

A sad story with a great ending. Reading a fiction book where they get the bad guy in the end is great; reading a non-fiction book where they get the bad guy in the end is *awesome*! As always, Ann Rule did tremendous research and really brought the story and characters to life. I love the pictures she included. And I was especially glad that Tabitha (the cat) was okay and wasn't another victim of the ruthless Bart.

Ann Rule does a great job of connecting the reader with the personal tragedies of both the victims and the families in this story. I loved the way she wove the story to reveal Bart Corbin's complex and twisted personality. The two victims in this story were young dynamic women that had so much to offer in this world. It is a shame that they suffered through Bart's oppression and met with such untimely deaths.

This is yet another haunting book from Anne Rule, who shows just how fragile life is and how important it is to pick the right man to marry. Just because a man is outgoing, friendly, and professional doesn't mean he doesn't have a dark side! This book made me truly feel the pain of the families, especially since they both have websites up to honor these beautiful women who lost their lives too soon.

What a heartbreaking story. I felt so connected to the people involved due to Rule's excellent writing. What I really love about Rule is that she doesn't make you feel a certain way about the case she is presenting. She presents the facts and then lets you form your own opinion. I thought this book was outstanding and a great fast read for those who really like true crime.

Okay, so this is where my husband laughs at me because I am a bit fascinated by true crime. I always like a good mystery and something about true cases interest me and I guess terrify me as well. Makes me more alert to this crazy world around me and I have a lot of empathy for families that go through terrible experiences such as this. I couldn't put this book down.

I use to be really big into the true crime genre and Ann Rule was my favorite author. This book was a good read and better than some of her books a few years back. After awhile she took a short story and would repeat everything over and over to make it a novel. It really got tiresome but this book did not do this and I once again enjoyed reading Ann Rule.

I followed this story fairly closely in the media when it was considered breaking news. Ann Rule does a great job of ferreting out information between the lines to give you a real sense of the people involved in a crime story. After reading the book my heart went out to the families of the victims even more than when the story broke.

Ann Rule is one of the best true crime writers! This story was especially interesting because one of the victims in the book, Dolly Hearn, grew up with my husband in Washington, Georgia. The whole town rejoiced when her killer was brought to justice through the trial of the murder of his wife, Jenn Corbin.

I didn't realize when I started this book that it was actually a chronicle of an investigation of a double homicide that had happened recently. Ann Rule's research was intense and thorough which made the story riveting. The people all became very real and I felt like I was reliving this event with them.

Okay, I'm not (necessarily) a genuine fan of true crime stories, but I LOVE Ann Rule. My Nan introduced me to her writing, and I'm hooked. This is her most recent book, and I'm trying to figure out, in the aftermath of Lacy Peterson, how I missed this story in the news. It was fascinating.

dikasih dua bintang aja, soalnya bacanya jadi gak sabaran, kesannya dipanjang2in. mungkin karena biasanya Ann nulis banyak kisah dalam satu bukunya. tapi dibuku yang ini cuman ada satu kisah.
tapi memang kisah pembunuhannya cukup mencekam.

Ann Rule's books are good, but the sad part is, they are true stories. This one was really quite interesting and had lots of twists and turns. Fascinating. But when you stop to think that all of this really happened, it's heartbreaking.

Ann Rule is truly the queen of the true crime novel. She writes in a way that holds your attention and provides the facts of the crime and compassion for all touched by the crime. It is a strange and scary window into human nature.
