THE WAR OF THE WORLDS MEETS DOUGLAS ADAMS as two kids and one old man prepare to save the world.

Things are getting better with the alien invasion. Sure it's still not too uncommon to come home and find your step-parents reduced to a pile of unsavory feet--but at least now with the disease killing the aliens off, you have a relatively decent chance of making it through a da

"Alien Feast," created by Michael Simmons and George O' Connor, is a science fictional book in which William, the protagonist, encounters an alien invasion and finds the true meaning of life. It is around year 2017, and William's step-parents were eaten by "gooey and rotten" aliens. Even around a pre-teen age, he begins to drive a car to his "long-time crush, Sophie," only to find out that her scientist parents were kidnapped by those aliens too. It is up to William, Sophie, and his uncle, Uncle ...more

Easier than "The True Meaning of Smekday," but not as poignant, Alien Feast is a Snicket-like look at a world invaded by huge hideous aliens who eat people (but not their feet). In the briefest of toasts to the invasion of NA by the Europeans, the aliens are suffering from a mysterious disease. William, his Uncle Maynard, and friend Sophie set off in search of Sophie's parents, who have been kidnapped by the aliens to find a cure for the disease. Mildly humorous, definitely the first of a series ...more
Have you ever seen your step parents be eaten by alien nand all thats left is there feet?Well Willams step parents were eaten by aliens and now Williams is trying to get to Uncle Maynard house. This book is science fiction because there is aliens in 2017.I honestly didn't like this book because it basically takes place at Uncle Maynard house and they are taking about were Sophie(Williams friend)parents might be since her parents were kidnapped by the aliens and a man.

In the beginning in 2017 Wil

Recommends it for: young teens who like lemony snickett and aliens

I just thought that it moved too slow. There was a lot of narration, something between Lemony Snicket and Douglas Adams. Some sort of ironic tone. Likeable characters. 12-year-old William loses almost everyone he loves, which is actually sad. Goes off on a quest with friend Sophie and an uncle, manages to survive and learns to local leaders have sold out to the aliens, aliens have kidnapped scientist-parents of Sophie, to find cure for a virus that kills many of them, more sad things happen, end ...more
Years after an invasion by a race of unintelligent aliens with a hunger for human flesh (minus the feet), William discovers that his horrid stepparents have been eaten by some aliens and that they have abducted the scientist parents of his longtime crush, Sophie. The two kids join forces with William’s strange uncle Maynard to find Sophie’s parents and defeat the aliens. The characters are well-drawn, and the plot moves well, but the tone sometimes made me think of Lemony Snicket, so the book wo ...more

NO for our library.

Not a strongly written book, at least from the first 25 pages... where I'm most impressionable. Regrettably, I didn't give this book much of a chance... and stopped at page 46.
This book is hilarious. The characters are great (the human characters, though the aliens are awesome in their own bizarre fashion), I can't wait to see what happens in the sequel...

Wow! What a great opening that grabs you and keeps you reading. (I said the first day...) Then it got a little slow. Not enough alien action scenes for my taste, but still satisfying.
This book is the best book I've read. It has so much action in it. Every once in a while it has some pictures to give you a visual idea. That is what makes the book so good.
Well, y'know. Sort of your average, everyday, alien invasion fare. Kind of felt like a play on "Smekday" but without J. Lo (which is a bit of a mistake). Eh.
Really liked the premise of this book - didn't like the writing. Won't work as a literary lunch book, which is what I was really looking for.
Man-eating aliens and ray guns. Underhanded mayors and nasty step-parents. Good sci-fi choice for 4th-6th graders, especially boys.
i love the book i really recommend it. i love the part when they almost get eaten by a alien
This book was full of surprises. I hope there is a sequel. I love a good Alien book!
Quick read with good adventure plot line, and unexpected plot twist.
Cute start, but peters out...
