First of all, I would like to congratulate the authors for choosing such a different concept for their first book. Writing a beautiful spiritual fiction without getting too much preachy is not an easy task but the authors have done a quite successful job in this regard.

The story begins on an unusual note where the girl, Maansi living in a very conservative rural village discovers that she is not alive anymore and she is in the journey to meet God. The story keeps seesawing between before death

It is really commendable that the authors have chosen a somewhat "heavy" theme for their first work. They have done quite a good job. The novel moves between the after-world and the real world (in flashback). The eternal questions about human life and death and karma and destiny have been asked and answered in the after-world part. An impossible love story blooms in the misogynistic environs of the state of Haryana, in the real world. The story is well written and I liked it and wanted more of ...more

‘I was there’ is the first work of fiction by Saptadeep and Mamta. This book came to me as a bolt of fresh air. Kudos to the author for choosing such a less traveled path to start their literary journey. Writing a spiritual fiction for their debut novel is not a cake walk but they have proved their worth.

The cover looks simple and very much ordinary compared to the books of the same genre available in the market. If the cover was catchier or maybe designed in a better way, the wonderful content

This book talks about a very sensitive issue and it is commendable that the authors choose this theme for their debut novel. A multi genre attempt is no mean feat! And the authors have done an excellent job here!

The narration is exceptionally beautiful. It holds you completely and the language a very strong one bringing out the right emotions in the perfect manner. A thoroughly enjoyable read.

‘Life after death’ is a mystery for all us – the humans. Since times immemorial, intellects and creative minds have put in their best of the efforts to unveil the mystery of the god’s creation but as soon as, it seems that they have solved it to some extent, every new interpretation of the analogies springs up to move a step ahead of the another.

Such is the gravity of the topic that only people with handsome knowledge and experience can carry it off for others to understand but these two authors

Well to begin with, I've known Saptadeep since long. But on reading this book, I realised there was so much more to him. "I Was There" can make you feel like a teenager in love, it can make u realise the futility of religion, understand the significance of life and can tear your heart apart with its climax.
More than that what surprises me is how two people who have never met each other, can come up with a story like this. Kudos for your honest effort guys.
Lastly, I would request everyone to rea
