Justine Bennett is cursing her life. She’s the Guardian of the Goblet of Eternal Youth, she hasn’t left the house in ages, and it’s been over 200 years since she’s had sex. Oh, and the Goblet has shape shifted into an espresso machine. Not exactly the stuff grand destiny is made of...

Derek LaValle is worried. Due to a family curse, he’ll be dead in the space of a week unle

I think that it's hysterical that my favorite character in this book was Satan. He was a blond, Brad Pitt lookalike who was so in love with Justine's mom that he courted her for almost 200 years! His Pepe le Pew act was charming and awesome, and I've think he stole the show.
Justine and Derek had a great I love you but I'll have to kill you love affair. Mona the goblet of eternal youth/espresso machine was funny when she turned into the massage oil (ha ha) and the book was definitely a tongue-in

Ok the long and short of the story is that main character Justine Bennett is an immortal Guardian that has to protect a sacred Goblet with Fountain of Youth properties. She must protect it at all costs and even at the expense of her own personal life. Because if she doesn't she will be thrown into the hall of unspeakable horrors for not doing her job. Which she thinks she can handle with no problem at all as she never leaves the Goblet's side or her apartment whom she shares with her G

This was a funny almost in a watching a train wreck way. The plot was silly the characters caricatured and yet I enjoyed it.

Our h is Justine, an immortal Guardian of the Goblet of Eternal Youth, her friend Theresa is named her successor, so gets to drink from said Goblet which turns her into a dragon who can't shift back, and they live in NY.

Our H is Derek La Valle, a Pretzel King (he invented no carb pretzels) and member of a Cursed family. At the age of 31 all male La Valle's die in horrible a

This is the first book in the Immortally Sexy series by Stephanie Rowe. The main character is Justine Bennett who is the current Guardian of the Goblet of Eternal Youth, which is a magical object named Mona that can shape shift. She is sworn to protect Mona which means she is board out of her brains hiding in her secure pent house all the time. Then enter Derek LaValle - He’s hot and he’s cursed. (Talk about your Bad Boy!) It’s a family curse (not his fault - just bad gene’s) and the only way t ...more

This was an amusing read, with lots of funny dialogue, so it perfectly suited my mood. My complaint is that the logic was off about half way through, so the supposed tension the main couple was feeling fell completely flat for me. But I still wanted to know how it would end, so that says something for the story.

I know, I know. Why is the Queen of Romance Bashing subjecting herself to another helping? Chick lit is palatable sometimes. The sex scenes were pretty inventive. The beginning of this book just made me cringe. Poorly written with too many references to adventures past, it had me double-checking to make sure I hadn’t wandered into the middle of a series. Nope. It all works itself out, but readers need to be patient. The only thing that kept me turning the pages was the hope Quincy would find his ...more

The author tried too hard to be funny, and it ended up resulting in characters that bordered obnoxious. The character of Satan was just ridiculous and every time he was around I felt myself cringing.

There are some authors who do funny very well, ex) Kimberley Raye, Mary Janice Davidson, Sandra Hill etc.. If you are looking for a funny PNR or funny trad. romance, there are far better choices out there than this one. I wouldn't waste my time with any of the other books in this series.

Loved this book. It is exactly what it says it is on the front cover-- 'a hilarious underworld romp'. I enjoyed it so much that I actually went to Amazon and ordered the second book as well as preordered the third.

We have Satan, Satan Jr, an 11 foot dragon, a guy with a curse on him, and the guardian of the goblet all thrown together in a great adventure!

I'm just going to jump straight into the review. Wow, is a work I thought of during the entirety of the book. A wow of surprise and just not sure what to say. A real je ne sais quoi in this book.

I gave only three starts because the book had some holes and after finishing a chapter, reading something odd, or just wowed by what happened/happening: I would just shake my head because I don't even know what to make of what just occurred.

I was entertained. On some of the scenes in the book I would poi

I never made it past page 15 in this one, it was bland and boring and Derek the main character irritated me. This one just wasn't for me.

Not everything about this book was a slam dunk, hence why I just like it and not love it.

What worked? Justine and Derek. Their dynamic was what kept me turning the pages to find out how he would escape his curse yet not kill Justine who is the Guardian of the Goblet, Mona. I also liked Theresa, Justine's BFF and stuck in dragon form, sidekick.

Was the story a tad cheesy? Yeah.
Was it a fun romp? Yeah.
Did it have enough twists and turns to keep me interested? Yeah.

Admittedly I read this several y

I wish I could give this 3.5 stars. It's earned it.

The great thing about Date Me Baby, One More Time is that it never takes itself seriously. Justine and Derek aren't entirely three-dimensional characters, but they're not supposed to be. They're both wacky, a little demented and larger than life - and they're the normal ones, compared to the people that surround them. Derek is cursed and needs to behead Justine to end the curse; Justine needs to kill Derek in order to protect the Goblet of Etern

Justine Bennett is the Guardian of the Goblet of Eternal Youth. Her job is to protect the Goblet from well everyone. Pretty impressive huh? Not if you ask Justine she hates her job. She has not had a date in 200 years, her best friend, Theresa, is a dragon the goblet has turned itself into an espresso machine and the only good looking guy around, Derek LaVille, wants to kill you to end a curse on his family. Just to add salt to her wounds Satan is trying to woo her deseased mother and she just d ...more

First in the Immortally Sexy hysterically funny, paranormal-romance series based in New York City. The couple focus is on Justine Bennett and Derek LaValle.

My Take
Rowe has a very funny take on Satan and immortal guardians even if she does take it a bit too far into the omigod stupid arena. Think Keystone Kops and the Marx Brothers crossed with Laurel and Hardy.

My favorite bits are when Satan is begging Iris to allow him to "lick the ground you walk on. I cry when you leave my sight". Or "I am no

As I loaded this book into my Goodreads.com account, setting it to “currently reading”, I couldn't help but notice a few of the reviews. They were slamming it as being a ridiculous book! With a title like “Date Me Baby, One More Time” I'm not sure what they were expecting? Perhaps they should be reading math books if they are looking for something more “serious” and not something from the paranormal/fantasy genre! LOL! ;-)

I *thoroughly* enjoyed this book! It made me giggle left and right! Quite

Date Me Baby One More Time, is a paranormal comedy through and through. So if you’re expecting Justine and Derek to have some really touching emotional moments then you’ll be seriously disappointed. Instead, they’re both usually halfheartedly trying to kill each other or trying to figure out a way around trying to kill each other. Honestly, I wasn’t too into Justine and Derek’s relationship. Sure it was cute the way they each really liked that the other was honest about plotting to kill them, bu ...more

hmmm...well having started the second book Must Love Dragons (Immortally Sexy, #2) and finding that the storyline is very much the same but with two different main characters it has highlighted how bad this book was edited as I have not felt like throwing the book down.

Going back to this book: the repetitiveness of the characters thoughts 'I will have to kill you', as well as the overdone flamboyance of Satan and Satan Jr I have still yet to recover from. The storyline was quite predictable and

Justine Bennett is bored. As Guardian of the Goblet of Eternal Youth (currently an espresso machine), she and her successor Theresa (cursed into a dragon) have barely left their apartment in 200 years. Theresa hasn't left for obvious reasons (hello, dragon?), and Justine needs to stay close to Mona, the Goblet/espresso machine. Plus she hasn't had sex in a few centuries!!! She could really use some action - in more ways than one!

Enter Derek LaValle. He's out to kill Justine and steal Mona. If h

Paranormal Romance

Rowe carves out her very own niche-call it paranormal romance adventure comedy-with this freewheeling series kickoff. The novel introduces Justine Bennett, the immortal guardian of the Goblet of Eternal Youth (an espresso machine named Mona), and her former bombshell of a roommate, Theresa Nichols, now an 11-foot-tall fire-breathing dragon. They've watched over Mona for 200 years, but now hunky

Confusing and a little slow at first it starts to get better after chapter 5 when Derek & Justine start to interact. As a humorous paranormal romance it did have it’s moments.

I may have been a little too hasty buying Rowe’s next 3 books before reading this first book; it’s set in a loose 4 story book arc.

Knowing that the author was previously a lawyer explains why the plot is well sooo…. analytical….. just like a lawyer would think.

Rowe creates too much sexual tension without any relief, tha

Very disappointing. I was hoping for something along the lines of Katie MacAlister, and it's certainly intended as such, but it was an incredibly badly put-together book. The writing was sloppy, full of holes and slips and inconsistencies that had me frowning rather than laughing (I think I laughed twice). The portrayal of Satan and Satan Jr. was meant to be humorous but just comes across as obnoxious and, yes, rascist. Nothing about the plot made sense; it was like the author never re-read what ...more

I should start by saying that Romance is my least favorite genre. Upon first glance I was certain I would hate this book with its pukingly girly pink cover and horrible title. The only reason I decided to give this book a shot was because it seemed to have a Buffy the Vampire Slayer-supernatural-fantastical feel to it.

Justine Bennet is the guardian of the Goblet of Eternal Youth who lives with her pretzel-loving and sex-crazed friend Theresa Nichols who has been trapped in a dragon's body for 2

So this was technically the first title on my amazon "Want to Read" list from back in 2008. I don't remember why I added it, but I rather suspect I read a blurb and thought it sounded fun. Yeah. Not so much. This one was cheez-tastic and contrived even by my standards. Will they or won't they... break the curse? get it on? kill one another? Oh, so many questions! If only I cared a whit about any of them! There was a good idea in here somewhere, I think-- but it just did not come to life for me.

This was funny and a quick read.
There was so much about this book that had me rolling my eyes in a way that said, “Seriously?”
The heroine is a Guardian in charge of keeping the cup of everlasting life, but it’s actually and espresso machine. The hero is this guy that has a curse over him and his other male family members and he happens to be a pretzel tycoon.
There were times while reading that I thought I missed some of the back story behind the heroine and why she was a Guardian in the first pl

This book lives up to the cover. The cover explains the book so well. This book was a funny book. There were points while reading that I was a little confused on what just happened. Derek the main character at times kind of annoyed me, but I think that it made the book that much better. This was a great adventure that I enjoyed and can see myself continuing into the next book.

What a great quick read. I finished this book in about 10hour. Female heroine (Justine) is tasked at guarding a cup of eternal life (Mona) and her successor is a blue dragon named Theresa. The men of the LaValle family all die from a curse prior to their 31st birthday and are tasked with stealing Mona and killing the guardian to release the curse. Derek falls in love with Justine and tries to find a way to lift the curse without killing her. It turns out the the LaValle men were cursed by Satan' ...more
